Dhieu Mathok, former SPLM-IO Secretary General who defected with Taban in 2016, told Nyamilepedia that the First Vice President met and discuss the possible return of Dr. Riek Machar.

“You know, we are an organized people, we have to discuss if Machar is possibly returning, so that is the context of the meeting and I will not give you more details because some of the issues discussed are official and administrative and can not be exposed to everyone” he told the Nyamilepedia this afternoon.

Another source told the Nyamilepedia on the condition of anonymity that the other issue discussed is the position of the SPLM Secretary General that he, Taban, had been promised to be given before he dissolved his SPLM-IO faction.

“The other issue discussed is the position of the SPLM Secretary General. You know, Taban has been promised to be given the position of the Secretary General after dissolving his faction, so the issue was also top of the agendas discussed yesterday,” the official said.
