July 15, 2017(Nyamilepedia) —— Speaking on behalf of President Salva Kiir, Ateny Wek Ateny, the Press Secretary of President Kiir, tells his audience that his President is the God of J1 who protected Machar on July 8th, 2016.
According to Ateny Wek Ateny, Dr. Machar was protected by Salva Kiir who did not want him to be killed.
Ateny claims that it was not God who protected Dr. Riek but Salva Kiir although President Kiir admit through a Press Release that he lost as twice as many bodyguards as Machar.
“Dr. Riek was protected by President Salva Kiir in that fighting. President Kiir made sure he covered Dr. Riak[Riek] and put him in an armoured vehicle and gave orders to the generals of the army to make sure Dr. Riak [Riek] goes back to his base” Ateny Wek said referring to the aftermath of the fighting.
Throughout the fighting period, which took 2 to 3 hours, the two leaders and their accompanying delegations, including the 2nd Vice President, James Wani Igga, stayed inside the Presidential Palace, protected by their bodyguards.
To spare the lives of the two leaders, the immediate bodyguards inside J1 did not fight one another.
Although Ateny Wek could not explain how President Kiir protected Machar during the fighting, Ateny told his audience that Kiir made sure that “his brother” was not killed.
“Dr. Riak is not alive because God wanted him to live but because Salva Kiir has allowed him not to die.”
Although Machar was not in the fighting, Ateny Wek believes that “he[Riek] could have died like any other soldier who was fighting around J1”
“But President Salva Kiir is a peace loving man. He does not want to kill someone that has sign a peace agreement with him”. Ateny claims.
The Presidential Spokesman reveals that President Kiir did not want to kill Riek because he would have been blamed by the International Community for killing Dr. Machar, his main peace partner.
“So Dr. Riek Machar was spared.” He continued.
The spokesman justified that Dr. Machar was followed to be killed after he left Juba. He said that it was unconstitutional to leave the capital despite a brutal fighting that continued in Juba for three days.
“God has allowed him for 40 days, walking day and night with all the hazards he has faced. With all the fatigue, that is why Dr. Riek can accept there is God.” Ateny.
Ateny Wek Ateny, a follow Dinka, served president Kiir as a spokesman for the last five years.
Despite many years of service in the government, Ateny’s audience in Australia were all Dinka and mostly from his hometown.
Ateny is currently touring Australia and may return to Juba to continue his work. For the last two weeks, the spokesman has been doing fundraising on behalf of President Kiir in Australia to support the government.
Due to financial crises, rebellion, famine and lack of international support, Salva Kiir government is collapsing.
Many public servants, who own expensive properties on mortgage abroad, including members of the army have not been paid for nearly 6 months. Judges and University lectures have gone on strikes but instead of being given hopes and promises, they are being fired or detained.
