SPLA-IO Captures Army Garrison and Police Post at Yeri, Amadi State

June 3, 2017(Nyamilepedia) —- The SPLA/M IO Forces of Division six, on June 1,2017, captured both the army garrison and police Post at Yeri in Amadi State.

According to reports released by the office of Lt. Gen. Wesley Welebe Samson, the Deputy Chief of Staff for Training of SPLM/A in Opposition, at least one police man was wounded and other surrendered to SPLA-IO forces.

“One policemen was wounded and the rest surrendered to IO forces with all their guns and armunitions. The government army was scattered in the area and details of their casulties  has not yet been received by my office.” reads part of the report.

Lt. Gen. Wesley congratulates his forces and calls on youth of Yeri County to join his troops in Amadi state.

“I therefore congratulate our gallant SPLA/M IO Forces for this successful operation. I call upon UN, US Government, IGAD  and  other members of  international community  to stop this war by asking Salva Kiir to return back to the negotiation table and revive the 2015 peace deal.” Said Gen. Welebe.

“I also call upon all youth of Yeri county to join SPLA/M IO so that they can defend their people from the attrocities being committed to them by Salva Kiir’s regime.” he continued.

Welebe calls on the people of Greater Mundri Counties to work together to evict the government appointed governor of Amadi State, Col. Joseph Ngere, with immediate effect.

“I also call upon all people of Greater Mundri Counties to work for immediate removal of Amadi State Governor Col. Joseph Ngere who is always persuing war instead of peace.” Said Gen. Welebe.
