April 28, 2017 (Nyamilepedia) —— SPLM/A-IO Internal Security Chief Angelina Teny has arrived in Australia for a peace tour. Angelina, accompanied by SPLM/A-IO national chairperson for external relations Amb. Stephen Par Kuol, is given a heroic reception by South Sudanese communities in Melbourne, Australian, and a huge welcoming party was hosted for her upon arrival.

Dobuol Lualweng Wuol, SPLM/A-IO Undersecretary in the office of the external relations says Mama Angelina is touring the region and to sensitize the world on how the dead peace agreement could be resuscitated and rally aid agencies in Australia to respond to South Sudan humanitarian crisis. Hon. Teny is expected to meet with Australia’s state officials including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in support of peace and she is also scheduled to meet all South Sudanese communities to encourage them to live together in harmony and work for durable peace in South Sudan.

“Mama Angelina is here in Australia to seek ways how the region can help in resuscitating the peace agreement and most of her mission is to rally the humanitarian community to rescue South Sudan from famine. On her busy schedule is meeting the South Sudanese communities – all with no exception, and encourages them to live in harmony and work for peace in our country,” says Wuol who is in a joyous mood.

Angelina, who is also the wife of Dr. Riek Machar, the leader of the largest armed opposition leader, will be a keynote speaker at the Nuer Convention in Australia which starts this weekend in Melbourne, Australia. A four-day convention has drawn all Nuer sections all over Australia and Angelina has got the opportunity to address thousands of the attendants.

An eyewitness who has been part of Angelina’s reception in Melbourne says her reception was unique and warm saying he has never seen such a huge turnout, hundreds of people in the airport to welcome the first lady of the SPLM/A-IO. “You know she walked 40 days to DRC in the middle of countless ambushes, artilleries, gunships, and American drones. Because she and her husband are innocent, they survived. She’s made of steel! People, old and young, are in tears just to see her here, I teared up too. I am telling you, the mood is very high,” says an elated young man simply named Chankuoth who says he flew for over two hours to meet Angelina in Melbourne.
