Governor of Wau Calls National Dialogue Fake, and Threatens To Fight Back

April 8th, 2017(Nyamilepedia) —— While some South Sudanese politicians are raising funds in Juba to “eradicate famine and poverty”, fighting has continued for the last three days in Baggari County of Western Bhar el Ghazal’s Wau State.

According to Governor Dominic Ukelo of SPLM/A in Opposition, government troops are on offensives in attempts to gain more territories in Wau Federal State.

Ukelo regrets that while the government is calling for a “national dialogue”, citizens are being targeted by soldiers loyal to President Salva Kiir in Wau, and therefore he will not sit back and watch citizens being slaughtered by government militias.

“Although the government is calling for the National Dialogue, in the last three day government troops have been targeting our civilians around Wau federal State.” Said the Military Governor of Wau Federal State, Hon. Ukello.

“In which the government troops have been bombarding the civilians with tanks and gunship. Forcing our troops to withdraw our citizens from the area.” Ukello continued.

The military governor threatens that his forces will respond to government aggression to protect civilians and themselves.

“We, the government of Wau Federal State in Oppostion would like to condemn the act of cowardness against our people in Baggari county. We will respond to this aggression very soon if its continues.” Hon. Ukello said.

Ukello declared National Dialogue fake and said it was all meant to mislead citizens and SPLA-IO forces

“The call by the regime in Juba for the national dialogue is fake, and was attended to mislead our forces.” Ukello concludes.
