Jan 30, 2017(Nyamilepedia) —— South Sudan’s former Vice President and the leader of the armed opposition, Dr. Riek Machar Teny, sends his congratulatory messages to the newly elected chairperson of the African Union, President Alpha Conde of the Republic of Guinea, and the chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E Moussa Faki Mahamat, the former Primer Minister of the Republic of Chad.

“I am writing to express my congratulations for your election as the Chairperson of the African Union Commission after a hard fought campaign. You deserve it” Dr. Machar congratulates H.E. Moussa Faki Mahamat and similar congratulates President Conde.

Machar encourages the two leaders to take this opportunity to put more attention to the resolution of South Sudan conflict saying that the regional block, IGAD, has voluntarily relinquished its responsibility to the African Union.

“It is our hope that during your tenure, you will give more attention to the resolution of the renewed conflict in South Sudan particularly now that IGAD has relinquished this responsibility to the African Union.

He assures his cooperation and promised to work with both the newly elected chairpersons and also with the AU High Representative for South Sudan, former President Alpha Oumar Konare.

“We will cooperate with your office and the AU High Representative for South Sudan, former President Alpha Oumar Konare to resolve this conflict. We want peace in South Sudan” Machar reiterates.

“Accept, please, my assurance of my best regards and consideration” He reassures the two leaders.

The elections of the two leaders or any other Candidate other than Amina Mohammed of Kenya, is a news the South Sudan Oppositions and Refugees in Kenya had hoped for.

The foreign Minister of Kenya, Amina Mohammed, a Somalian-Kenya, has helplessly watch deportation of Somalia and South Sudanese refugees which spark fear in the three countries.

The latest controversial incidents was the kidnapping of Dr. Machar’s spokesperson, James Gatdet Dak, for which Machar called Amina to intervene but she failed. Gatdet was detained and deported to Juba, South Sudan where he currently remains in Prison.

According to Kenyan and Human Rights lawyers, Dak’s deportation was against Kenyan Constitution and International Human Rights, and Hon. Amina, who is also a lawyer by profession, should have intervened in attempt to resolve the case in Kenya.

Two other South Sudanese officials and human rights activists Samuel Dong Luak and Aggrey Idri have been kidnapped this week in Nairobi Kenya. Again, the Kenya government did not intervene.

Despite, Amina lost at a narrow margin to Hon. Moussa Faki Mahamat, a former Prime Minister of the Republic of Chad, who also served several positions including Ministry of Foreign and Presidency for the Economic, Social, and Cultural Council.

This idiot guy is still thinking he is relevance. He is disgrace to the Nuer and he should be silent and let the Nuer do what they want to do. I hope the Nuer would realize by now that he is nothing, but a Nuba Mountain send to punish us.

Riak must not be given any permission to talk about peace because his mind is devils advocate for the peace in South Sudan.

Dr Machar doesn’t need permission to speak his mind; that’s what South African have agreed with. Dudan, Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda thought Dr Machar shouldn’t be allowed to make any political statements in their home turf. Those neighbouring countries thought keeping Dr Machar in the faraway South Africa would usher in “automatic peace”. It’s now six months and counting since Dr Machar left South Sudan and as a result Yei went up in flames, Kajo Keji is in disarray, there’s no peace in Wau and Torit lives in constant fear – more refugees from one country, South Sudan have fled their homes compared to the number of refugees from Eritrea, Syria, Yemen, etc crossing the Mediteranean sea to Europe.

Bring Dr Machar on the round table to talk peace, morons!

Tulow Kier,

It’s you who’s irrelevant; Dr Machar is a VERY RELEVANT man to the solution of the political crises in South Sudan. The political crises in this country shouldn’t be seen through the Nuer lenses…….
