Jan 18, 2017(Nyamilepedia) —– Ambassador Dr. David de Chand Ruai, Chairman of South Sudan Democratic Front Party(SSDFP) and Chairman of SSIM/A(SSIM/A) has declared allegiance to SPLM/SPLA in Opposition.

According to a 12-page declaration, released on December 31, 2016 and extended to Nyamilepedia today,  Dr. de Chand declared his allegiance to IO

“Today, 31st December 2016, I do hereby declare and affirmatively reaffirmed my allegiance to the I-O before the end of the year and we will enter into the New Year 2017 to bring us new anticipations, hopes and prosperity, knowledge, new ideas and new thinking and neo-thinking for the war effort and the future.”  Dr. de Chand said.

Despite past differences with IO leadership, Professor de Chand said his main rival in IO was Gen. Taban Deng Gai but since Taban has left he no longer feel marginalized.

Dr. de Chand, a pro Naath Unity and a western scholar with strong academic background, calls on IO leadership and supporters to accept his allegiance adding that he cannot be compared with Dr. Lam Akol and other politicians who joined the movement to divide it and try to submit it to Juba.

“As an intelligentsia intellectual with a strong constituency in the I-O that is doing the fighting and the dying, I would not hesitate to pose many challenges to anyone that would reject my reaffirmation of being an I-O such that I could think of framing a neo-I-O within the existing I-O, but never ever to be compared to that of Dr. Lam Akol Ajawien, the late General Gabriel and the late Colonel Johannes Okuich who were really in disguised SPLA-IG misled by Taban Deng Gai [alas Mohamed Hassan El-Hagg) for the sake of power, money, control and a man whose political ambition has been money laundering, Narcotic trafficking, corruption, power and control of the destiny of others against their free will and consent.” Reads part of Dr. de Chand’s long article.

“As a Nuer Aristocrat (Diel Nathdial ka Rami mi raan) I could not ever divide the Nuer nation for such positions. I believe that the Nuer comes first and supersede such positions. I have a profession that I could do to benefits the Nuer people-that’s establishing institutions of higher education, hospitals and clean drinking waters projects, agricultural and veterinary development for self-reliance, self sufficiency and food security of different kinds of initiatives to create a new generation of the future and the present.” He added.

“This was what I wanted to do when I returned from America as an academician. Nevertheless, such a golden opportunity was denied by the current dictatorial government with the support of idiots like John Luke Joak, Pagan Amoun and many other pseudo-nationalists that have now disappeared for good, withered away and would not rise again. My programs remained intact and the time is nearer, closer or at the corner for their implementation” De Chand continued.

As a part of his 2017 resolutions, Dr. de Chand calls for an inclusive national dialogue between the Nuer in Opposition and the Nuer in Juba emphasizing that such a dialogue is important for all Nuer to come out to share their grievances.

“We would emphasize Dialogue because our fruitless, unwanted and failed Nuer leaders like Timothy Tot Chol, Michael Mario Dhour, Gabriel Yoal Dok, Dr. Riek Gai Kok, Kok Raui as the most useless, illiterate and the witchcraft dancer and worshiper to be invited to such a Dialogue to come out in the closets to tell us in persons their true colors and why they did the things that they have done, which they out not have done. We should be opened to Dialogue with good, bad and/or ugly intentions in order to document their actions for posterity. This is the bottom line. I proposed a Nuer-Nuer Dialogue to iron out our differences peacefully and amicably for the sake of our community’s unity and to wage resistance against the criminal, dictator and genocidal regime in Juba.” He concludes.

In other part of his long declaration, Professor de Chand criticizes Dr. Machar’s leadership but defend his criticism as a constructive criticism adding that he is entitled to his opinion for the betterment of the IO.

He believes that he has been in Opposition(I-O) long before the December 2013 conflict broke out and therefore those who defected from December 2013 should have joined him and his colleagues who already fled Juba.

For that matter, de Chand believes that he has been an I-O all along.
