August 17, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —— South Sudan’s displaced First Vice President, Dr. Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon, has finally came out of the bush around Juba to bolster diplomatic front of the SPLM/SPLA in Opposition.

For the last one month, Dr. Machar has reportedly refused evacuation believing that the army of the SPLM/SPLA in Opposition may lose central command on the ground if he leaves before reorganizing the troops, mostly in Equatorian region.

According to his spokesman, James Gatdet Dak, the Chairman and Commander-in-Chief has now been relocated to a neighboring country, exactly one year after he signed the Peace Agreement in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

“The Chairman and Commander-in-Chief of the SPLM/SPLA (IO), Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon, has been successfully relocated to a neighboring country today, August 17, 2016, after one month of stay in the bushes around Juba.” Said James Gatdet Dak, the Press Secretary of Dr. Machar.

“This also happens exactly one year after he signed the Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan (ARCISS).” Gatdet continued.

The move to relocate South Sudan’s First Vice President, now replaced by his former ally Taban Deng, came after many allegations among his rivals that his silence could mean that he is dead, a speculation that has caused rift among the politicians in his camp.

“He is currently safe! He has assured of the leadership’s commitment to change the status quo in the country.” Gatdet said.

On his part, Taban is campaigning that the First Vice President should leave him his position so that he can implement the peace agreement with Salva Kiir until an election is convened.

Machar was the first Vice President of the country from 2011 to 2013. He returned to Juba in late April this year as the “First Vice President”, a position that was created by the peace agreement in August last year; however, he fled the capital once again after his immediate bodyguards were wiped out at an incident that threatened his life at South Sudan’s Palace.

Despite that he was controversially replaced by his internal opponents, Machar is still considered the legitimate First Vice President of the country.

For South Sudan’s peace to hold, IGAD-Plus, African Union and the United Nations Security Council have called on Salva Kiir to remove Taban Deng Gai and Machar to resume his position.

Since the outbreak of the conflict in Juba last month, South Sudan’s economy has deteriorated to the lowest it has ever been since Independent. Many supply routes leading to the capital are now closed down by the SPLA in opposition and many investors have fled the country.

The opposition threatens to storm the capital unless a regional force is deployed to guarantee security for the civilians and aid workers, and also to protect national installations in the country.

  • Very wonderful that, he is went to neighbouring country to covence the press, so that the world can see what is doing by kiir ,they have to heard from Machar himself .Vivaaaaaa.

Matthew Russell Lee clearly asking tough but right question of.. if Machar’s consent was solicited prior to him(Machar) being taken to the Congo?

It is also clear at this point that Machar was allegedly airlifted to DRC by the french MONUSCO (which is)

    Running Away

    Ya running and ya running
    And ya running away
    Ya running and ya running,
But ya can’t run away from yourself
    Can’t run away from yourself
    Ya must have done
    Somet’in’ wrong
    Said ya must have done
    Wo, somet’in’ wrong
Why you can’t find the place where you belong?
    Every man thinketh his
    Burden is the heaviest
    Every man thinketh his
    Burden is the heaviest
Ya still mean it, who feels it knows it, Lord
Who feels it knows it, Lord
    Ya running and ya running
    And ya running away
    Ya running and ya running
But ya can’t run away from yourself
Could ya run away from yourself?
Can you run away from yourself?
    Can’t run away from yourself
    Can’t run away from yourself
    Yeah from yourself
    You must have done somethin’
    Somethin’ somethin’ somethin’
Somethin’ ya don’t want nobody to know about
Ya must have, Lord, somethin’ wrong,
What ya must have done, ya must have done somethin’ wrong

And I don’t want to live with no strife
It is better to live on the housetop
Than to live in a house full of confusion
So, I made my decision and I left ya
And now you comin’ to tell me
    That I’m runnin’ away
    But it’s not true

  • An attraction and very very bad ideology. What ever Riek Machar did is no good.Young men and young women of Nuer have to join him if that is a good idea. Movement is a personal choice and not like that.

  • He is in West Africa, the clothes he is wearing.

I don’t blame you Jaang for the boldness and wickedness you become. Gatmchar want peace not war. We need a war leaders to show how you have destroyed south sudanese dignity. God will punish you. The humiliation done to naath believe it will not go unpunished. The bad name you brought to South Sudan, the ungrateful attitude you shown UN, the US and all the people that federal you, educated you, will not go unpunished.

  • GatNor

You are right a war leader was needed yesterday and more so today than any other time in Nuer history to etiquetly address the challenges and aggressions posse by Jaang against Nuers.

The day a Gajak takes the mantle of Nuer leadership is the day Nuer around the world will have a sigh of relief and probably will start a formal and a real restructuring of their affairs. At this point they will just have to wait but patiently search for a potential one.
When I said a Gajak I am not including the likes of Lol and those from Maiwut Maiwut and Longchiok who have succumb to greed and cowardice by subjecting themselves to a life of servitude in a Jaang’s managed parliament. Most Gajaak leaders are realists, practical and prioritizes mutual peaceful co-existent as history could be the judge of my opinion of.. On the other hand many of them don’t take lightly to any unprovked aggression and threats should their opponent violently negate the consequences are usually real to those who chose the pass of war because Gajaak are as well fluent in the such art and can not only talk the talk but walk the walk even a mile further if one dares to test their fury. This been proven to be true so time and time again. And Jaang of SPLA know very well what I am talking about.

I have witnessed brothers now taking long routes as far as they can to seek safety, sincerely who cursed our land? Let’s get back to our senses and stop the blood shed, it’s ENOUGH! We are tired of being refugees everywhere, for all sakes!
Machar & Kir stop this madness!
