Important Message to all SPLM-IO Supporters in Diaspora and Back Home Regarding The Illegal Appointment of Taban Deng Gai.
Reath Muoch Tang,
July 25, 2016(Nyamilepedia) -– The SPLM-IO Mission Office in USA is hereby informing all the SPLM-IO supporters in Diaspora and USA that the alleged meeting that took place at the Crown Hotel in Juba in which Taban Deng Gai was appointed to replace the FVP, Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon, was illegal and uncalled for. First of all, Taban’s membership was terminated from the SPLM-IO and he was also removed from his position as the member of the SPLM-IO political Bureau. For those above reasons, Taban Deng Gai had no legitimacy to call SPLM-IO leadership meeting.
Second, some of our SPLM-IO Ministers who did not make it to the UNMISS protection Camp were threatened by Taban Deng Gai and Ezekiel Lol Gatkuoth using Government Security agents. Some of them were brutally tortured, for example, the SPLM-IO General Secretary who is also the Minister of Electricity and Dam, Hon. Dhieu Mathok Woul, was one of those tortured for not complying with Taban’s and Ezekiel’s orders.
We, the SPLM-IO Mission Office, the entire membership and all the supporters of the SPLM-IO in the United States of America reiterate our unshakable support to the SPLM-IO under the able leadership of H.E Dr. Riek Machar Teny, the First Vice President of the Republic of South Sudan, and the Commander-In-Chief of the SPLM/SPLA-IO. We are committed to the implementation of the peace agreement, and we also renew our call for immediate deployment of the regional forces as per the request of the IGAD Head of States and the African Union Communique supported by the UN and Security Council.
In conclusion, we urge all the members of the SPLM-IO around the World not to be shaken by the defection of these two individuals, Taban Deng Gai and Ezekiel Lol Gatkuoth, who are joining the Government of Salva Kiir that had carried out genocide against the Nuer in Juba, Chollo in Upper Nile, Paratit and Balanda in Western Bhar El Ghazel, Equatorians, Murle in Jonglei and other ethnic groups in South Sudan.
