July 14, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —— Ministers from the SPLM/A-IO in the transitional government of national unity have been rounded up from their various hotels and arrested, Nyamilepedia has learned.

Unconfirmed report says Ministers arrested include Deputy Chairperson of SPLM/A-IO and Minister of Interior Alfred Lado Gore, Secretary General of SPLM-IO and Minister of Energy and Dams Dr. Dhieu Mathok Ding, Minister of Federal Affairs Dr. Richard K. Mulla.

Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Mabior Garang de Mabior is among those who are reported to have been arrested, but the news of their arrest is to be confirmed. Dr. Dhieu Mathok has been severely tortured by national security officers.

James Gatdet Dak, spokesperson of the SPLM/A-IO leader says there have been arrests of SPLM-IO Ministers by South Sudan national security and appealed to IGAD to intervene.

“South Sudan’s opposition ministers loyal to First Vice President, Dr. Riek Machar, are being arrested in Juba. We call on IGAD to intervene,” said James Gatdet.

“It is confirmed that SPLM (IO) Secretary General and Minister of Energy, Dr. Dhieu Mathok Ding Wol, has been arrested after severely beaten,” Gatdet tweeted.

The number of the SPLM/A Ministers arrested today in Juba by national security is unknown but Machar’s spokesperson confirmed that Dr. Dhieu Mathok was on the phone with him when members of national security collected him from his Crown Hotel.

“I have just received a call from Dr. Dhieu Mathok Ding, Secretary General of the SPLM (IO) and one of our natonal ministers that their hotel in Juba (Crown Hotel) has been surrounded by President Salva Kiir’s forces. He told me that they wanted to arrest all our ministers who have been accommodated in the hotel, and maybe in other hotels as well. He said he was reporting it to me as an urgent matter.” Gatdet stated.

“As he was talking to me I suddenly heard voices of people like they were arresting him or beating him, saying “bring him here, bring him her.” There was a lot of struggle and some sort of beating in the background until the phone was off. I tried to call him but the phone was off.” he continued.

Chairman of Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (JMEC) Festus Mogae has not issued any statement on how to protect the SPLM/A-IO Minister who remained in Juba after SPLM/A-IO leader and First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar was pushed to the outskirts of Juba during five days fighting that was started in J1.

South Sudan Ministry of Information is yet to be reached for commend.

Why do the so-call SPLM/A-IO gallant forces abandoned their politicians and ran to the bush?

I wonder what the SPLA-IO secretary General, General Wol was doing in hotel while his troops were fighting Malong’s militias in Juba for five straight days if he isn’t a non-essential General?
