May 09, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —– The president of South Sudan’s Transitional Government of National Unity, former president, Mr. Salva Kiir Mayardit, has today sworn in the newly appointed ten advisors.
The swearing in ceremony of the controversially appointed advisors was performed today at J1 by the Chief Justice Chan Reec Madut, a long term loyalist of Mr. Kiir.
At the oath, the president advised the new advisors to be “good ambassadors” in the country.
The ten advisors include the Chief negotiator of SPLM-IG Nhial Deng Nhial, Gen. Daniel Awet Akot, Tor Deng Mawien, Tut Kew, Dr. John Gai, Aggrey Tisa Sabuni, Lawrence Korbandy, Dr. Anne Itto, Tahir Bior and Clement Wani Konga.
Although the president has started with a large number of advisors, who are only from his faction, many advisors to the president including religious leaders resigned their positions in the past.
According to critics, many African leaders may have many advisors, however, it is the president that advises the advisors and not the obvious.
The appointment of the new advisors has been wildly protested by the opposition faction of SPLM/SPLA-IO, under the First Vice President.
To IO supporters, this unilateral decision violates the peace agreement but President Kiir has gone ahead any way to implement his “Republican appointment”.

Fighting in Mangala
In the former central Equatoria state, at least five people are confirmed dead and many others injuries in Mangala county.
Contrarily, this time the new fighting is not between the two rival forces of SPLA but between the local of Central Equatoria.
According to local residents, a group of youth attacked a newly appointed commissioner of the new Mangala county on Saturday morning to prevent the group from raising a flag of newly created Jubek state.
Unilaterally created by President Salva Kiir in violation of the peace Agreement, Mangala is considered part of Jubex State, which according to the residents of a neighboring “Terekeka State”, is an illegal alienation of their land.
The new Commissioner of Mangala County, Elario Paul Pataki, believes that the attack was carried out by gunmen of the Mundari tribe who blame Kiir’s government for annexing their land to Jubex state.
According to Michael Makuei Lueth, the minister of information and government spokesman, the group of Mundari youth attacked “SPLA forces at Koda”
“A group of armed Mundari attacked the SPLA force at Koda. This morning they attacked the SPLA force at Koda, and one of them was captured.” Makuei said.
At the intervention of SPLA-IG forces in support of the new commissioner of Mangala county, many youth from Mundari tribe have been arrested and transferred to Juba.
The creation of 28 states by president Salva Kiir without proper consultations of the indigenous people has fueled conflicts among the newly created states.
