April 26, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —- The widely celebrated return of South Sudan’s former Vice President, Dr. Riek Machar Teny, who arrived in Juba on April 26th 2016, has restored hopes for peace, unity and reconciliation of the bitterly divided South Sudanese people.

Speaking after his arrival in Juba, Machar emphasized that all the resources that were invested in war for the past two and half years should no longer be invested in war but in stabilizing security, economy, bolstering humanitarian access and national reconciliation.

“Obviously with all of us in Juba, any money which was used for the war efforts should now be moved to the four challenges I said: stabilization of security, stabilization of economy, getting access for humanitarian relief, and then the process of national reconciliations” Machar said.

Due to numerous resources and efforts required to reverse the catastrophe of war, Machar calls on the peace brokers and the International community to help them mobilize resources to rebuild the country.

“So our supporters, those who helped us strike this agreement,  they also need to help so that we implement the agreement” he said.

The historic return of Dr. Machar was celebrated in Juba, Malakal, Bentiu, Bor and other major capitals of South Sudan states.
