Fighting In Yambio Left Government Soldiers Dead.
Jan 06, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —- Reports from Saura village near Yambio indicate that South Sudan government troops have incurred serious casualties in their latest assaults on arrow boys, an equatorian based local defense that has been battling Salva Kiir’s regime in the states of Equatoria.
According to the local residents, Arrow Boys withdrew from Saura on Monday after hours of fighting the SPLA-juba in the areas, however, the arrow boys laid ambushes at Nzara, about 7 miles away.
Corresponding for the Equatorian Union, Muslim Gore reiterates the government troops were ambushed for pursuing the retreating arrow boys.
The source allege that at least 20 soldiers from the government side were killed in the ambush while the arrow boys lost at least two fighters at the scene.
After the ambushes, fighting escalated to Li Rangu as the government troops retreated towards their main barracks in Yambio.
“The remaining batllion ordered their forces to retreat and pull back because of the amount of soldiers they were losing in a short period of time.”Said Muslim.
“The battalion and remaining commandos fled immediately and called for reinforcements but a few hours later, our forces were once again attacked with heavy Ammunition followed by hundreds of SPLA Trained fighters and they are the ones our boys are facing currently on all fronts.” the source continue.
Arrow Boys leadership, which formally identifies their force as South Sudan People’s Patriotic Fronts (SSPPF), calls on IGAD and the region to deter Salva Kiir’s government from attacking their positions and civilians on Equatorian land.
“Our innocent civilians continue to die and starve at the hands of the SPLA, we cannot and we will not continue to be attacked, our forces in all front have been given the instructions to only attack upon self defense. We are for peace, but we are for peace that will represent US all in south sudan.” Muslim explains.
