Fangak Youth Union In Juba Denounces The Appointment Of James Kok Ruei As Governor of Newly Created Western Bieh State
Dec 28, 2015 (Nyamilepedia) —- Fangak Youth Union (FYU) based in Juba has decried congratulatory messages sent to President Salva Kiir Mayardit on appointing Hon James Kok Ruei as Governor of newly created Western Bieh State. South Sudan Radio and SSTV congratulated President Kiir for appointing 28 Governors including James Kok Ruei as a final step to implement the newly created 28 states of South Sudan.
“FYU wants to make it clear here to the public that this body has not issued any congratulatory message to President Kiir on the appointment of Honorable James Kok Ruei. We are not part of the broadcasted message; FYU did not support the decree and will not support the appointment of James Kok Ruea,” acting chairperson of FYU Telek Dak Majiok has said in a press statement extended to Nyamilepedia.
As per FYU claim, the Presidential decree is grabbing the land of Fangak people to the Dinka Padang community that Fangak accommodated since 1935 from the time they arrived from present day of Parieng County.
“The creation is only favoring Dinka community by having 14 states to a tribe in power which was not a national interest.”
“It’s the reward of James Kok Ruea on the killing of the massive of Fangak’s people since 2013 until present.” Said Majiok.
Fangak Youth Union alleges that Kok’s appointment as Governor of Western Bieh State is the blockade of peace at this particular time when the entire Fangak community yearns for peace.
FYU is the registered body in the Republic of South Sudan under the Ministry of Justice and is verifiable.
