Arrow Boys Rescue Arrested Youth In Yambio
Dec 09, 2015(Nyamilepedia) —- After battling government troops for nearly 24 hours in Yambio, the state capital of Western Equatoria state, arrow boys “rescued youth” from the state prisons in Yambio.
According to a statement signed by Brig. Gen Henry Malesh Joice Louise, the Chief Operation officer of Nerran Division for the rebels in Yambio, “Kpinga and Arrow Boys brigades” rescued unidentified number of Youth who were allegedly being slaughtered by the SPLA [Juba] in Yambio between December 7 and 8.
“Nerran Division commanded by Maj. Gen. Alfred Fatuyo Karaba has rescued youth from Western Equatoria State being publicily slaughtered by SPLA [Juba] faction” Said Brig. Gen. Henry Malesh.
Brig. Gen. Malesh narrates that the fighting between the SPLA [Juba] and the arrow boys of Nerrran division began at 8pm on Dec 7 and came to subside at 4pm, December 8, 2015.
The brigadier general said his troops, who captured most parts of Yambio including the airport and governor’s residence, inflicted heavy casualties on the government side and captured at least two payams in Enzo County.
“Our forces captured Bariguna Payam of Ezo County on Date 8/12/2015 around 4pm and Namunga payam of Enzo county at around 2pm” Reads part of the Arrow Boys document.
On casualties, Gen. Malesh attests that SPLA [juba] has lost about 18 lives and sustained several other injuries.
“Our forces killed 18 SPLA soldiers and 7 injuries in Namunga Payam of Ezo county. 150 killed and 18 injuries in Bariguna Payam of ezo ncouty. 150 killed and 18 injured in Bariguna payams of Ezo” Said. Brig. Gen. Malesh.
Although the Brigadier General did not provide details of the casualties on the rebels’ side and whether the arrows boys withdrawn from the state capital, he confessed that his troops are now in full control of Bariguna and Namunga Payams of Ezo County.
According to the residents of Yambio contacted by Nyamilepedia editorial team, calm has returned to Yambio this morning, however, many civilians have either fled the town or remained indoors.
At least one thousands others, mostly women and children, sheltered at Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) in the town.
In other reports, the government troops have been battling more than two rebel groups in Wester Bhar el Ghazal, Eestern Equatoria and Western Equatoria states.
