SPLM/SPLA Chairman Reappoints National Committees
Dec 08, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — South Sudan’s former Vice President and the chairman of SPLM/SPLA in armed opposition, Dr. Riek Machar Teny, has reshuffled the national committees for Public Enterprise, National Security and Defense, Land, Labor and Environment, and National Resource Management.
While Dr. Machar appoints Cde Anjelina Teny to lead the national committee for National Security and Defense, he appoints Cde Losuba Lodoru Wongo as the chairperson for Land, Labor and Environment, and Cde Lumumba Stanislaus Di-Aping as the chairperson for national committee for Labor and National Resource Management.
“Pursuant to SPLM/SPLA Conference Resolutions (Nasir and Pagak), I, Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon, Chairman and Commander-in-Chief of SPLM/SPLA, hereby appoints Cde Angelina Teny as Chairperson of National Committee for Security and Defense” reads the statement signed by Dr. Machar on 6th December, 2015.
Before appointing Cde Lumumba Stanislaus, Machar relieved Amb. Lumumba from his previous position as Chairperson for National Committee for Enterprise.
Ambassador Lumumba Stanislaus Di-Aping joined rebellion in Nov 2014. He served as an ambassador of South Sudan to the United Nations (New York), Chairman of the G77 plus China and a Member of National Liberation Council for Lakes State.
On the other hand, while Anjelina Teny, the first wife to Dr. Machar, has served Ministerial positions in both pre- and post-independent governments of South Sudan, she has accompanied Machar from Juba in December 2013 to most diplomatic missions of SPLM/SPLA [IO].
Col. Losuba Lodoru Wongo, on the other hand, has led an Equatorian based Revolutionary Movement for National Salvation (REMNASA) until his rebel group merged with the SPLM/SPLA-IO in October this year.
