Oct 21, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — Latest reports from South Sudan’s capital, Juba, confirmed the expulsion of Dr. Luka Biong Deng (DPhil), the Director of Centre for Peace and Development Studies at the University of Juba, South Sudan.

Last week, the center for peace organized a well attended lecture at the University of Juba on the legality and constitutionality of the Republican Order number 36, issued by President Salva Kiir on October 2nd to create 28 states out of the current ten states.

According to credible sources from the University, the lecture was attended by the leader of political opposition parties Dr. Lam Akol, Chairman of Jieng Council of Elders(JCE) Ambrose Riiny and government officials including the Presidential Advisor for Legal Affairs, Lawrence Korbandi.

The reliable insider confirms that the JCE chairman, Ambrose Riiny, abruptly stormed out of the lecture hall and rushed to president Salva Kiir’s office to request the dismiss of Dr. Luka:

“Ambrose Riny stormed out of the lecture in protest and went directly to President Kiir office, requesting the President to dismissed Dr. Luka, reasons being the centre is anti government.” said the reliable insider who declined to be named due to sensitivity of the case.

Before the end of the lecture, the insider explained,  President Kiir had made a direct phone call to Vice Chancellor of Juba University, Mr. John Akec, who immediately summoned Dr. Luka and passed on the order that Mr. Biong must leave the country for his own safety.

“President Kiir called the Vice Chancellor of Juba University John Akec, who was ordered to dismissed Dr. Luka from the centre. Dr. Akec in turn summoned Dr. Luka and told him, he has been instructed from above.” the insider explains to Nyamilepedia correspondent.

“the best he could do is for him to give Dr. Luka open leave, tickets and depart from Juba not later then Tuesday 20/10/2015.” the insider continued.

According to the report, Dr. Akec could not guarantee safety of Dr. Luka.

Latest reports confirmed that Dr. Luka left the country on 19th October and he has now arrived in Australia where his family lives.

Dr. Luka has been closely monitored, detained and arrested by the government agents, the Military Intelligence, in December 2014. He was accused of distributing money to bribe the Equatorian Youth, locally known as arrow-boys, to fight the regime.

“December 23, 2014 – I was arrested, detained, deported from Yei with my properties sought and seized not by police or national security service but by the Military Intelligence of the Sudan Peoples Liberation Army (SPLA) on Sunday 14th December 2014, when I was conducting UK-funded research on strengthening institutions of accountability in South Sudan….I was accused of distributing money to mobilize Equatorian youth against the government” Dr. Luka explained after his release last year.

Luka Biong, the Director of Centre for Peace and Development Studies, is also in charge of Kush Inc., a non-profit organisation promoting peace, stability and development, with a particular focus on South Sudan and Abyei area.

Luka is a Global Fellow at Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO), Associate Fellow at Carr Centre for Human Rights Policy at Harvard Kennedy School and a fellow at Rift Valley Institute. He is a recognised expert on the affairs of Sudan, South Sudan in areas of poverty, vulnerability, famine, civil wars, constitution-making, and state-building.

He served for five years as a Minister in the Office of the President of South Sudan and as a National Minister of Cabinet Affairs of the Sudan until he resigned in May 2011 after Government of Sudan invaded Abyei, his home area, in May 2011.

Now U can understand that this country is managed by stupid leader / cattle keeper who reason like their cattle, Salva Kiir Mayardit (born 13 September 1951) is a South Sudanese stupid politician who has been President of South Sudan since its independence in 2011. Prior to independence, he was President of the Government of Southern Sudan, as well as Stupid First Vice President of Sudan, from 2005 to 2011.He is not known to have finished his primary school education..That is why he is very stupid and idiot leader ever in the world compare to Idi Amin of Uganda.

You have finished your primary school education.Your Mum should have been the first to removed her clothes off and Kiir touch her with his left hand to play your mum in a small dark HUT,but make sure that my mum not.I love my mother so much.

This was expected and its expected to happen to more educated South Sudanese.

The cattle camp leaders cum South Sudan government officials have made it categorically clear that they don’t want Ph.D holders – they don’t want to work with those who have regard for humanity. Why should we be surprised with the explusion of Dr. Luka Biong Deng? Dr. Josephine Lagu was expelled and detained after she was sacked as the undersecretary in the ministry of higher education, Prof. Nyamlel was sacked and threatened, Dr. Olivia Lomoro was sacked and expelled from South Sudan.

In South Sudan only the educated who have sold out their intellect for a morsal like those Drs Marial, Elia and others are safe winning and dinning with the cattle camp leaders. True South Sudanese intellectuals have long been pushed out of government or the country for that matter.

What patriotic South Sudanese are left with is to resist the status quo!

The incompetent, tribal warlord, power-hungry-greedy, traitorous, killer Kiir, Malong Awan, Kuol Manyang, and the JCE(the Dinka council of national resources looters- Ambrose Riiny), are hell-bent to eliminate competent and genuine South Sudanese intellectuals regardless of tribes period. To hell with these treacherous and semi-illiterate murderers.

Gatdarwich
Make sure that Kiir knows right now where you live. Hacking, listening innocent civilians phones and Insulting wouldn’t help. Ask your SPLM-IO what their leader has done in Juba.

Those who don’t like the SPLM party and its leadership team need to be weeded out of it,leaving those who get along well to carry out their national responsibilities without disturbances.

Laydown strict rules to which all its staff must abide by.

If they don’t like the rules, punish them and show them the doors to the world they think everybody will welcome their ideas they wanted to pushdown the government’s throat without some disagreements.

When a party member lacks discipline towards the party’s rules and its members who thought he or she was one of their team colleague,he or she must be brought to books and dismissed according to whichever one of the party’s norms he or she breached.

This is an authority and it is in everything, not only in government but also in other areas such as football team.

In the case of Dr Luka, I hold nothing against him. There is no doubt he is an experts in those areas he represent(s)or(ed). I wish he should have been allowed to do his duties of philanthropic, center for peace and human rights works, however some of allegations such as bribing Arrow Boys from Equotoria with money and encouraging them to take a fight against the government he had once served as a minister, if true are serious accusations that should normally contradict his responsibilities for peace, human rights and philanthropic work areas. If true, his inciting of violence by urging Arrow Boys to joint rebellion makes him as an adversary to the government, hence making those members of the government to have made the right decidion for their dismissing of him.

Remember too,any violence is not good for poverty that Dr Luka is trying to solve with his dedicated philanthropic, peace and human rights hard works. Violence can only make his work a failure and I don’t think he would have been too unwise to kill his own works through having actually had done what he was accused of.

Whatever it is that led to Dr Luka’s firing from his job at Juba University lecture theatre, shall only be known from him whenever and wherever he decides to disclose it to the public. No need for much speculations.

Brothers and Sisters, I do belief that Kiir has become the chairman of the SPLM Yei, not the Chairman of the SPLM mainstream for the way he runGovernment. If you allowed those of Ambrose Riing to ran the Nation with the ideology of NCP, what do you expect to be the outcome? Kiir must resume his SPLM in order to follow his mission and the vision of the SPLM Yei. he wanted to destroy the mission and vision of Garang. what do you guys expects if the nations is being ran by the group of illiterate like kiirdit ,Malong, Akot Deng, Garang Mabil, Ambrose who pretend to be a lawyer, Tellar, Deng Dau, Makuei, and their one wife Awut Deng, to mention few? those bunch of an educated.

Which norms are you talking about, the same party SPLM/A of which Kiir is also its#1 rule breaker and the current flag bearer? The ruling party that has also brought the country to a failed state status. south Sudan is a total fiasco because of you people using the national resources including the party SPLM/A to advance Jaang interest. This is why I also believe the remedy is not anywhere outside the country but in the battle fields. Talking with you will not solves anything at the moment. I said before that Machar and those who want to sit with you Jaang can talk but those capable of fighting you like Gatdeet and Gatkuoth should be equipped to fight you. Lack of planning and working with in unity by following a hierarchical voice in Nuer society give you a chance of advantage.

I am glad Nuers are presented with a real problem to solve. The solution will be swift and clean. They are only in daze for a moment.

A removable or expel from SPLM political party means nothing,he will emerge with other political parties. That’s how politics and democracy about,he can even form his own political party, but top position will not be easy for him anymore.

I haven’t see any wise leader who refused to be advised by his legal adviser and prefer to be advise by illiterate people from his home town so called JCE. Removing wise and highly educated persons from the Institutions is not accepted as the Country still looking such kind of people like Luka and many others Please JCE stop misleading this Country and go to the Cattle camp

Another example of Riek Machar how he has victimized many intellectuals and more will follow them because exile is knocking at their doors. Big people should understand that running to exile with empty pockets is going to be a bloody pressure. There is no jobs for them in exile unless they got their own capitals.
Good Good for Big People.

The Little Time I Spent at the Center under the Patron ship of Dr. Luka Biong was so Inspiring and Memorable. Unfortunately, I had to Leave so Soon. He truly won my Respect. Together with Edmond Yakani and his team from CEPO and other Civil Society Organizations, they made the Center a ” True institution of Higher Learning.” Worthy of the Name. Now that is all gone. The Yakanis will be panicking. Maybe, they Need to be even more Careful. Its all Pathetic! So sorry! Cry the beloved Country.

It is very disturbing if a country is being government by a clan elders. Who is paying this famous or infamous JCE, where do they draw their power from? is it because the president is Dinka?, A head of state cease to be a member of his tribe the moment he takes that great national seat people. Salva is the face and father of the Nation, I wish the JCE grows up and get busy with organising the jieng culture instead of meddling in South Sudan politics.
By firing an academician for organizing a debate or hosting it to find the mind set of the students is not a crime ya jamma? If you know that you like taking drastic decision then surround yourselves with real debaters not under dogs.
