Sept 28, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — South Sudan’s First Vice President of the upcoming Transitional Government of National Unity, Dr. Riek Machar Teny, has briefed the South Sudanese Daispora Community upon his arrival in New York city, USA.

Briefing thousands of South Sudanese Americans, who overwhelmingly turned out to welcome him and his delegation, Machar apologized for their delayed arrival and went on to explain his visit.

In addition to the invitation to attend the high-level meeting on South Sudan by heads of states and governments, Machar reiterates his visit was partly intended to address the Diaspora Community and to attend the African Union Peace and Security Council meeting in New York to discuss the report of Commission of Inquiry on South Sudan.

Having arrived late in New York, the chairman calls it “unfortunate” that the armed opposition has missed the important AUPSC meeting on South Sudan.

“We came for three functions. One of the functions, unfortunately we will not be participated. It was done at 5 o’clock. AU Peace and Security Council has met at 5 o’clock to discuss the report of AU’s Commission of Inquiry on South Sudan”. Machar tells supporters at the Conference Hall in New York.

Despite having missed the event, Machar commends the continental body for their bold initiative to form a commission to investigate massacres, genocides and human rights violations in South Sudan for the first time in Africa.

Machar has briefed the Diaspora community on the IGAD -PLUS Compromised Peace Agreement, Federal System, AU Commission of inquiry reports on South Sudan, peace reconciliations and National Healing.

The Chairman also urged the Diaspora intellectuals to stop sensitizing ethnic division and negative writing on social media, warning that it polarizes reconciliation and peaceful coexistence.

Machar advised the Diaspora to begin reconciling among themselves and to constructively think and contribute towards constitution making process of their country.

The SPLM/SPLA Chairman also urges the Diaspora to thoroughly study the AU reports when they it is officially released.

According to Dr. Machar, he is the only person who has read the document after he was served with a copy but cautioned to keep it confidential until the continental body releases it.

While in USA, Machar will continue briefing South Sudanese communities, meet with foreign diplomats and also with President Salva Kiir in New York in October to finalize the peace agreement before he returns to commence his duties as the First Vice President.

Unlike his colleagues who represent the government, Machar was received by thousands of members of South Sudanese communities across the United States and Canada.

Members of South Sudanese communities from various states and provinces of North America [USA and Canada], who booked Pennsylvania hotel conference hall in advance for the briefing, could be seen waving dual flags representing two countries of their origin.

According to reports from New York, Machar has met with SPLM/SPLA-IO mission to the United State and a few foreign diplomats in New York.

Riek is for all of us, but if you don’t want to meet him, that is your problem because no body should go to your house asking you to meet Riek.

Either you are real stupid or you have quite a retarded weird way of getting your point out.Either way the symptoms are similar..Dump and lack clarity. English grammar is not that difficult. You been at it since before South Sudan civil war.

I bet even a prophecised “language grabber” from Ngundeng city learning English tomorrow would grade better than you in expressive writing mr “arrest development”

I looked up your name nearly two years ago now… without the “A” and it turn out that it’s actually a sad name by definition. GUMUT.

Internationally,South Sudan education is not bad. I was a Hotel worker and i can fine a job in any Hotel in the South even i can become a food and beverage manager in any international Hotel in south Sudan. What we want from our leaders is only respect because we are awared that they got leadership and money, but let them keep them and leave our people in peace.

You can’t talk about forgiveness & reconciliation now because the Dinka warlords (Kiir, Kuol Manyang, Malong Awan, Philip Aguer, Ambrose Riing, and Bona Malual) must first apologize to the Nuers. Until they do that, there wouldn’t be peaceful coexistence between Nuers and Dinkas (Zero chance in hell) period.

Hey what happened to Dr Macher’s flight; I am just wondering why he was late in arriving for a function he received invitation more than a week ago.

We should all be good timekeepers; leaders and those led. South Sudan will change is we manage time well. I hope there will be no complaint by SPLA-io since they have already missed on of the three meeting they wee meant to be in attendance.

I wish both parties fruitful deliberations.

Please Let Dinka apology this time or we will burn down this jungle when White army face Mathiang Anyor here in Juba with out involvement of foreign troops. But i heard JCE are begging UPDF not to leave South Sudan, they said they will be crushed by Machar troop if Uganda left and no Dinka will live in South Sudan

Riek Machar is not a leader completely I don,t think whether he will lead south sudan, because the way that he facilitate things will not allow him to rule south sudan. Riek machar is trible leader.but we need a leader who will never say that, this is Dinka, Nuer etc. Riek can not be a leader without Dinka.

Kai Doang September 28, 2015 at 10:14 am

Amen, what do you really mean? Do you mean Dr. Riek can not be a leader without permission from what so called Dinka? No, Riek can be a leader not by permission from any tribe, but by his promise for what he can do to change us to better. And we can’t wait to see that change.

The government soldiers are surrounding Juba in demilitarization of Juba. They will also have their Navy boats and amphibious tanks to guard the Nile. They have as well attack helicopters to response to any attacks.

Besides, there are UN Combatants to be deployed in the country and monitor whoever leave their barracks to initiate attacks and reward them with crippling consequences.

The strategies your White Army will have to use need to out manoeuver all the obstacles that are placed on their way to succeed in defeating Mathiang Anyor.

What people really need is peace and egos that such as white Army can defeat Anyor is a delusion that can make the civil war drag on for years with no benefits to gain.

You should be sicked hearing IDPs talking about lack of food and women talking about disgusting rapes and all. Ignoring these problems in favour of White Army Utopian victory to be,shows that you do not care about those IDPs who seem mostly affected by the war and that is absolutely inhumane.

The real war is yet to come. Jaang should blame themselves for not standing up against their leaders having tribal agenda. JCE should have seen this coming. South Sudan cannot be South Sudan without the Nuers come war, come peace. Nuers are the one element that keep South Sudan together.

Mr. AMEN, you are totally wrong. you said that statement really in opposite.
Whom do you think could be the south Sudan’s future, except the great, Dr. Machar?
Truly the current president is exactly the tribal leader through many evidences.

1: what was the cause of NUER massacre in Juba the capital?
2: For what reason kiir said that he want to eliminate Nuer just like an equation?
3: For what reason the government devastated and destructed the villages of the innocents civilian?
4: Why the innocent civilian are being kill?

So kiir does not deserve to be a leader. A leader is a leader because of the citizens. kiir has killed half of the population of the south Sudan and still insisting on saying that he deserve to remains as the president of the republic of the new born nation south Sudan. So what a fun? And you still claim that kiir is good leader.

You led kiir astray and it will turn back to you seven times. The blood of the innocent civilian will always call for kiir up to his grand grand children. go away with your tribal and dictator leader. Go and make him a tribal chief in your payam if you really like him. Long live great Machar. long live Dr. Machar for south Sudan need you, not only physically but also your brilliant and fantastic mind, because of the innovation of helpful ideas.
So you deserve it and it is already yours. we always believe in your smart thinking.

Too early for Dr. Machar to even talk of reconciliation and forgiveness. In order for the Nuers to forgive and reconcile with the Dinkas, the following individuals must first apologize to the Nuers: Gen. Malual Ayom and Makuei liar(Bor UNMISS massacare), Mabek Lang(castration of 120 young boys in Bentiu), Kuol Manyang, Malong Awan, Killer Kiir(December 2013 juba-Nuers genocide), Ambrose Riing and Bona Malual (for engineering the ethnic cleansing-war on Nuers ), and Philip Aguer (for defamation and demonization of the Nuers on the S.S. national T.V).

folks in my point of view, both leaders are no longer fit to lead our new Nation,a traditional leader from any tribe would be way better to lead us and move on into a new era,a new chapter whereby Nuer people and Dinka people should be living side by side just like old day.

don’t paint everyone with the same brush…salva kirr create man-made crises and commit atrocity/genocide against NUER people. Riek fought for self depend, you Dinka need to accept the fact that Dr..riek whom you all hate to death can’t go away anytime soon….Dr.garang tried so hard to get rid of him but turned chaotic

Dr. Riek Machar can not be compared to the incompetent-tribal-minded and Dinka-warlord, Killer Kiir. Dr. Machar is an altruistic South Sudanese figure. Dr. machar is the real father of the South Sudan because without him, South Sudan would not had had got independent from the Sudan period. He is literally the South Sudan and South Sudan is Dr. Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon. That is indisputable and bitter fact my Dinka pals !

Agumut,
Is your Mom who sleep with Arab but you Dinka are true gossips. Where were Abdhala Deng Nhial in 1960th? Abel Aliar in 1970th Bona Malual 1990th etc. Both Diew was the first person who claim self determination while your uncle Kuol Deng was busy selling Abei. Samuel Gai Tut was kill because of his vision to fight for Self determination. DR. Riak was nearly assassinated in 1991 because of being democrat. Where is Dinka vision of New Sudan? i thought you would appreciate Nuer who fight for Self determination from day one.

Gumut to whom much is given much is also expected. Respect is something that thrives only on a two way street through give and take. Ironically you know nothing of that sort, so please stop that nonsense about respect. Just flee across the river you coward. Had it been about the money the Nuer could have had a total claim to 90% of South Sudan oil revenues since it’s technically being siphoned from out of the ancestral homeland. The Jaang are using that oil revenue to finance their campaign of destroying everything Nuers including infants and helpless old people who have already spent the earlier days of their lives liberating your sorry selves. You shouldn’t talk about respect.
