Sept 10, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — Members of South Sudan’s Red Army Foundation, allied to the armed struggle, congratulate Dr. Riek Machar, the Chairman and Commander-in-Chief of SPLM/SPLA for his visionary leadership and hard work to restore and redirect the world’s youngest nation.

The youth foundation, founded by members of former child soldiers, predominantly known as lost boys and girls, congratulates Dr. Machar for signing the compromise peace agreement despite sharp reservations from the leadership of SPLM/SPLA and some senior members of Nuer community.

“The RAF would like to congratulate the commander in chief Dr Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon for signing the peace.” Said Lam Meat Koryoam, the secretary of RAF [IO].

Speaking to Nyamilepedia editorial team, Lam reiterates that signing and implementing the peace agreement was overdue to end the suffering of the South Sudanese who have suffered enormously for nearly two years.

The foundation extends their votes of thanks to the leadership of SPLM/SPLA, particularly to the National Liberation Council for ratifying the Peace Agreement and overwhelmingly nominating Dr. Riek Machar as the First Vice President of the Transitional Government of National Unity.

As the First Vice President, Dr. Machar is tasked to coordinate the implementation of the Compromise Peace Agreement and initiate Institutional reforms, among other duties, as prescribed in the peace document.

The Red Army Foundation calls on its members around the globe to unite and support the leadership of Dr. Riek Machar Teny for having a vision and the aspirations of the South Sudanese people.

“we call all members of the RA  around the globe to be united and support the SPLM/A-IO under the leadership of Dr. Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon because he is  the only leader that concerns about the well-being for every South Sudanese  citizen, therefore, Dr. Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon is the leader we want to leads our beautiful country” Lam said.

The secretary affirms their unanimous support of SPLM/A-IO, adding that their position remains as it was in the past struggle to ensure that South is liberated from dictatorial and marginalizing regimes.

“We (RAF) would like to inform the all south Sudanese communities, we are supporting the SPLM/A-IO  under the leadership  of Dr. Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon,  as the same way we  supported and participated in the struggle or the civil war, during  our early age, because we wanted to have a free country that every one enjoy all human rights and equal excess on all resources of the country” Reads part of the statement.

South Sudan’s former Vice President, Dr. Machar, who has led the armed Opposition for the past 21 months, signed the CPA-II on its dateline on August 17th, 2015 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; a call that was promptly ratified by all the stakeholders.

Despite that President Kiir refused to sign the agreement on August 17th, which instigated anti-peace protests in government held areas and criticisms from Jieng Council of Elders, Kiir signed the agreement on August 26th under duress to avert international pressure and threats of negative consequences.

The two warring parties, despite political challenges and continued violations of permanent ceasefire agreement, have this week ratified and endorsed the compromise peace agreement.

The two sides have also readied their army commanders to participate in an IGAD-Plus workshop to prepare them to implement the Permanent Ceasefire Agreement and transitional amalgamation of the armies into a national force.

You know things are real bad for any leader like Kiiir when the youth’s infamous army sororities THE RED AMY are not in line to following or defending tyranny. It’s their future these old dictators are gambling with. Red Army leaders, your stand in support for peace is generously nationalistic.
