July 26, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — South Sudan’s Dok-Nuer community association in Sudan condemns the government-led atrocities committed by a combined SPLA forces and allied Bul militias in the major counties of Unity State.

According to a report released on July 23 by the Human Right Watch, government forces rapped, and abducted women and young girls, burned houses, raid cattle and brutally killed civilians in Rubkona, Guit, Koch, Mayiandit, Leer, Payinjiar and many other villages in central and south of the oil rich Unity state.

The community strongly condemns the government of Salva Kiir for killing civilians that it ought to protect and provide with the basic services.

“In the light of the above mentioned subject, we, the Dok Community Association in Sudan, do hereby condemned in the strongest term possible the SERIOUS ATROCITIES committed, which include; gangs raping young girls under 15years of age, burning a human being alive (i.e. children aging between 2 to 5years and elderly citizens ), abduction of children, destruction of properties and looting of cattles, mass displacement of the people and burning of all the local villages to ashes” part of the community report reads.

“It is with grieves concerns that those SERIOUS ATROCITIES, committed are beyond human description and measures that, they are of a cowardice and barbaric in nature, that were thought not to be executed by any government or organization claiming to would have been elected by the same citizens whom it is committing barbaric acts against!” the report continues.

The community chairman, Majak Dieu Gatbuok Mok, reiterates that the government of Salva Kiir gathered children and elderly before it overran them with tanks.

“It is very unfortunate and painful that, salva Kiir’s forces and its ALLIED MILITIAS of Bul, claimed to protect the civilians, yet they (Kiir’s forces) are committing SERIOUS INHUMAN ACTS, for instant, gathering civilians (small children and elderly) and being ran over by a war tank, gathering young women in one hut after gang raping, and set them on fire!” Majak said.

According to witness testimonies filed by the Human Right Watch in Unity State between April and June, civilians were collected and burned alive in houses by members of Bul militias and SPLA troops.

Dok community reminds its citizens and sympathizers that it is not the first time in history that Bul militias committed such atrocities in these areas, and therefore the International Community must condemn and take serious actions against the government of Salva Kiir that fits civilians against one another.

“Dok Community Association has recalled that, it is not the first time for these Bul militias to implement the policy of committing atrocities in the State’s Southern Counties; in 1998 -1999, These Bul militias, carryout ABDUCTION OF YOUNG GIRLS AND WOMEN, BURNING ALL VILLAGES which resulted to MASS DISPLACEMENT and also LOOTING CATTLE in Southern Unity State Counties;(Koch, Leer, Mayiandit and Payinjiar). In 2014, they committed gang raping and destruction of MSF’s Health Facility, with the help of foreign mercenaries such as; JEM and SPLM – N, in Leer County.” Dok community states.

“We are therefore urging the International Community, The IGAD countries except UGANDA, the African Union, UNMISS, United Nations Security Council, TROIKA partners, and all the nationals, regional and the international right groups, to condemn the so called government of Republic of South Sudan under Salva Kiir whose term has expired, and its all allied militias  and to investigate the crimes being committed and bring the culprits and perpetrators before a well recognized court of law.” The association states.

The community calls on its members in various parts of the world to similarly condemn the leadership of Salva Kiir and its allied militias for the atrocities committed in their community.

“We also urge all the sons and daughters of Dok, in all their different political and military affiliations, to take bold decisions, either individually or as group, to condemn Salva Kiir’s regime and its allied militias of Bul, for the serious atrocities they committed on our community and act now!” the report continued.

The grieved community further recommends and requests UNMISS to foster more civilians protection, and to establish more protection sites in Leer and Payinjiar counties for the IDPs from from Koch, Mayiandit , Leer and Payinjiar Counties.

According to the United Nations report the two months fighting, between April and June, has displaced more than one hundred thousands (100, 000) civilians.

The Human Rights Watch report recommend strong punitive actions against South Sudan Chief of General Staff, Gen. Paul Malong Awan and the Commander of the government allied Bul-Nuer militias, Maj. Gen. Mathew Puljang Top.

That is a old picture of Bentic when government recapture it back from Rebels. War is not a joke when damned rebels and illiterates just walk out and beat the drummers of war. There is no choice for the government.
