July 24, 2015 (Nyamilpeedia)  — South Sudan’s Former Political Detainees, who were recently absorbed by the SPLM-Juba Faction, call on the IGAD-PLUS mediators to ensure that there shall be no further rounds to negotiate peace in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

“We should resolve that there shall be no further rounds to negotiate peace in Addis Ababa” Cde. Deng Alor resolves.

Addressing the IGAD-PLUS forum on the Occasion of Submission of the Proposed Compromise Agreement to the South Sudan Stakeholders to Resolve the Crisis in South Sudan, Cde Deng Alor, who  represents the SPLM Leaders, previously known as SPLM-Uhuru, urges that the warring factions must sign an agreement upon their return in mid August, 2015.

“This must be the last round in which we should agree and sign the compromise solution proposed by the mediation.” Deng Alor said.

Hon Deng, the former Cabinet Affairs Minister of South Sudan, warms that the country is collapsing beyond repairs.

He stresses that if the holders fail to sign an agreement now, then the country will disintegrate into pieces.

“Being at the farthest worst point of fragility, South Sudan will disintegrate into pieces if allowed to hit the hard surface. It is self-evident that such disintegration will not only be catastrophic but will be hard to reverse.” Deng said.

“There will be no any possibility of a group or groups picking the pieces or putting it back together. It is, in our view, crystal clear that the only option available to us is to prevent collapse and rescue the country.” He continued.

Deng further urges the South Sudanese to expect no ideal and perfect solutions to the ongoing conflict in the short run but rather to work collectively to improve and achieve the best goals of freedom, democracy, liberty and justice.

“the only indispensible lubricant that can keep this imperfect deals and compromises running to achieve those pure and perfect goals of freedom, democracy, liberty and justice, in the long term – is in our collective commitment to reclaim our national will and to get our country back from the morass of fragility and entrapment.” He stresses.

“That fresh start begins with admitting that we cannot retrieve what is lost. It resides in realizing that we cannot agree on the narrative of what had gone wrong and the history of crisis.” he says.

Although the former detainees are acknowledged in the Compromise Peace Document as an independent entity, the former detainees have admitted joining the government and dropping all the name tags that they were identified with in exile.

The document allocates approximately seven (7) percent of power to the SPLM Leaders and the remaining seven of fourteen (14) percent to other political parties in the country.

The government gets fifty three (53) per cent of Ministerial portfolios (16 Ministers) as SPLM/SPLA [IO] takes the remaining thirty three (33) per cent of Ministerial portfolios (10 ministers) in the Council of Ministers as previously proposed.

  • Deng Alor is right,Riek Machar doesn’t want to sign because it is not good for him,but Nuer don’t even understand him because they are subhuman.

    • Deng Alor must directly talk to his kinsmen(Kuol Manyang, malong Wan, the Dinka council of national’s resources looters, and the incompetent Kiir) who foolishly planned and initiated this current crisis. It’s seems like the cowards Dinka warlords didn’t envisioned the dire repercussions of the on going ethnic cleansing war- campaign being waged against the Nuers. They will and must reap what they unwisely sowed in the South Sudan’s soil period.

    • Mr. Ass, the mercenaries that your cowards Dinka warlords(Kuol Manyang, Malong Awan, and the incompetent-Alcoholic Kiir) hired will eventually quit providing life support to your genocidal regime sooner or later. You and your kinsmen will eminently reap what you sowed in the Nuerland period. Keep crying baby.

  • the Nuer in the luaks they have better understanding than intellectual Nuer.

It is meaningless to agree to the current IGAD-PLUS peace proposal for South Sudan. How can a murderer such as Salva KIrr be allowed to be a president of the transitional government and expected to make reforms as well as indict himself and his accomplices of genocide? What does IGAD think about the entire south Sudanese who are victims of Salva Kirr’s regime of terror? The entire leadership of Salva KIrr is implicated on crimes against South Sudanese- way back from 2005 to present and they Should not be part of interim government for national unity. Let IGAD leave us alone to sort out our problems maybe with the help of UNSC if we are still part of human society? If the current proposal is adopted, it will be the sure way for South Sudan to disintegrate into three States or more because all the victims are fed-up with the attitude of IGAD which seems to side with a genocidal regime! In fact when IGAD talked about the last chance for South Sudan, what it meant is the last chance for them to hit the nails on the heads of South Sudanese victims of Salv KIrr and his terror group. How can thieves and killers be their own judges?

AGuMUT, Useless Agreement is like eating uncook breads. We are not Nuer of yesterday. We read better than any Dinkas combined; We understand any bit of these documents and proposals that were proposed by your IGAD Commanders Musevenie. The more you sales the country to the foreigner the more there be no peace signature to wrong agreement Agumut. Your argument doesn’t make anything at all.

    • I am not educated, but it is better for few educated and little educated Nuers to get rid of Riek Machar and gain your freedom back. Please i am a Dinka, but Dinka will not give in because it is you people who have started a violent. Thanks Think-Tank for keeping Unity State with out Development. SPLM-IO need to surrender otherwise government will not give in. N.B.Dinka wouldn’t give in becuase you had started it.
