United Nations sanction on Nuer Generals is a misstep

July 02, 2015 (Nyamilepedia)—Nuer Community members around the world are stunned by the recent United Nations sanctions imposed on our brave Generals Peter Gatdet Yak, James Koang Chuol, and Simon Gatwech Dual.
The Nuer Community feels that fairness was not served in the course of the action, because there is no way warmongers, such as South Sudan army Chief of General Staff Gen Paul Malong Awan, South Sudan Minister of Defence Kuol Manyang Juuk, and South Sudan Information Minister Michael Makuei Lueth, who have all committed all sorts of heinous war crimes and crimes against humanity were left untouched in the sanction.
Three Kiir’s stooge Generals carry separate but similar heavy criminal baggage; Paul Malong Awan on one hand stamped his finger prints in every crime committed.
He was abundantly and adversely mentioned by the AU Inquiry Commission Report as the one who he spearhead Juba Genocide through his Gwelweng Militia gangs.
Gen Kuol Manyang on the other hand authorized the use banned cluster bombs on civilians in Jonglei State on February 15, 2015. The busy bee Michael Makuei Lueth carried out mass murder on innocent civilians UNMISS in Bor town, yet disseminates hate speech through government owned SSTV.
A sane person would ask why such criminals are left on the loose?
Targeting only Nuer Generals in the sanction is not fair. The United Nations has not acted on its recent finding that a beast has turned Unity State into the death valley.
Government’s Gen Matthew Puljang Top who is abductor, rapist, kidnapper, and butcher is reducing young generation in Bentiu in a speed of light in the eyes of the international community.
He castrated young boys, raped young girls and killed a good number of elderly in Bentiu town, and the atrocities are ongoing. One incident was recorded that government soldiers under command of Gen Puljang gang-rapped an elderly women, then pushed 30 AK47 bullets inside her vagina and died instantly.
If war criminals like Gen Matthew Puljang are left out in the sanction, where is fairness the United Nations is talking about? It’s the miscarriage of justice if the United Nations imposed sanction on Generals Simon Gatwech Dual, Peter Gatdet Yak, and James Koang Chuol simply because they defended their people from extermination by the Genocidal regime.
The Nuer Community in the Diaspora has condemned the UN sanction be it’s flawed, one-sided, and lacks truth. The Naath people are targeted as community by the world’s body that is supposed to protect them.
The United Nations didn’t act even when Michael Makuei Lueth butchered Nuer civilians on its watch.
The United Nations needs to do its best job by protecting civilians from all the political divide, bring justice through ICC those who are wiping out Nuer populations in Unity State, Joonglei State, and Upper Nile State.
Thank you God bless .
