April 20, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — The leadership conference of SPLM/SPLA in Opposition, which started yesterday, April 19, 2015, has continued into its second day today on Monday in Pagak.

According to James Gatdet Dak, the Spokesperson to SPLM/SPLA [IO] Chairman, many senior leaders comprising of the Chairs and deputy chairs of various national and specialized committees, representatives of the Movement abroad, senior military commanders and governors of the states for the opposition are attending the conference.

James Gatdet reiterates that the Chairman and Commander in Chief, Dr. Riek Machar, briefed the conference and affirms the commitment of the opposition to the IGAD-led peace mediation, and calls on Juba to show the same.

“In his opening remarks, the Chairman and Commander-in-Chief of the SPLM/SPLA, Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon, reaffirmed the Movement’s commitment to the peace process and called on the participants to deliberate on the issues and agree on the way forward” Dak said.

After Dr. Machar, the SPLM/SPLA[IO] chief Negotiator, Gen. Taban Deng Gai, revealed the new IGAD-Plus mediation mechanism.

Dak believes that the rebels’ leadership will discuss the inclusion of new states and organizations in the next rounds of IGAD-PLus mediation.

“The agenda will be discussing IGAD mediation including the proposed new mediation mechanism that may include AU, EU, UN, Troika and China” Dak said.

He further said that the conference will also discuss AU report and reports from Military governors, and commanding generals from various states.

“They will also be discussing AU report on atrocities committed in the war. Status of the Arusha agreement between factions of the SPLM will also be looked into.” the spokesman said.

“Organizational documents approval and reports by governors will also be tackled.” he reiterates.

Other items that will be discussed in the meeting include humanitarian situation in rebels’ held territories and outcomes of various meetings with other political parties and former political detainees.

At least we have agenda for peace here not like that one of Juba whose agenda is how to bribe people and how to talk about 1991 incident plus sanction

I spend 9 months traveling all conflicts zones. As private citizen, I am so tired of seeing all my people dying in South Sudan: I was In Pagak today and I have seen only all self interest leaders and Individuals. I observed and I concluded that none of them really know and understand the suffering of our local citizens. They know only hotels lifestyle and fantastic flights and conference call and rooms. As regular citizens I spend most time with them in Addis Ababa Sheraton Hotel…trying to see what life style these leaders have. Drinking, nice girls, touring all Addis Ababa in the afternoon… Wow wow wow!! Really? What’s in Addis Ababa is totally different from what is on the ground where our people are suffering.

NOW THEY ARE ALL HERE IN PAGAK TRY ING TO TELL US ABOUT B-SHIIT AND THAT AND THAT…AND THIS…AND HERE IS STUPID GOAL WE ARE FIGHTING FOR…THEN RETURNING BACK TO ADDIS ABABA AND ENJOY AS USUAL.

THIS YEAR , I MET RIEK SON IN SWEDEN AND I ASKED HIM WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THIS CONFLICTS IN SOUTH SUDAN, AND HE SAID TO ME HE DONT CARE BECAUSE HE US NOT AFFECTING HIM AND HIS CLOSE FAMILY DIRECTLY.

First of all SPLM/A-Pagaak has a much better objective and vision for South Sudan. That vision is to transform the country from tyranny to democratic, from a country grip by man made disasters including economic instability to economic growth. From wide scale corrupt practices to ethical standardized guided practices of avoiding corruption, nepotism, favoritism, tribalism. And from a centralized system of governing to a government of the people, by the people, for the people.

The ethnic regime are deep in the middle of opportunities where they can implement great policies and a vision for the country but they have not done it for the past years and are not showing any efforts of transforming from deformity. have you tried looking at things from such prospective before judging harshly. I think not. Everything that could possibly be wrong on this planet are easily found in South Sudan that have a government that should work to curve the magnitude of misfortune. It is not a perfect government nor is it a well seasoned, well established government with functioning system and branches of institutions. Even the ruling political party is not united amongst it ranks to organized any transformations the country badly needs.

You said you were in Pagaak so tell me one positive contribution you offer as a solution that would be helpful to the people of South Sudan and oppositions during their conference. You are sick if you are going as far as conjuring up beliefs that you traveled to Pagaak. I must advice you to immediately check yourself in at the nearest local clinic for abnormal mental thought forms occurrences. You must be a nomadic homeless gypsy does not travel as you mentioned and an ordinary modern man does not do that much traveling either unless they have the luxury of affording such an expensive travel or they are getting paid while doing so. Your story does not add up unfortunately Mr. Abuchook.

South Sudanese have suffered a lot in this man made crisis,it is high time Riek and his commanders abandon pulling ropes and consider the suffering of the citizens, whereas the govt should do same in bringing peace simply because ” when two elephants fight the grass suffers”.

I hope the second conference in Fangak will not discussing the war tactical like what they did in the last time conference. The civilians are suffering in the refugee camps and those left homes are dying not even getting food to survived and it is time for rebels to drops off too much and too little commitment on peace agreement and show their willingness even if they don’t like it.

In the last round talked, the government were not actually to be blamed of failing to signed lasting peace deal but the East Africa leaders believes the rebels leadership were unwillingly to make hard choices on their side. In addition to our tradition peace agreement and it was only between Nuers and the Dinkas which was held in Wunlit Location within South Sudan. Typically, the churches people and the former chief of staff, Nuers communities leaders, Dinkas communities leaders and the three governors of Upper Nile regions are going to lead the Dinka and Nuer peace sooner than later. The three governors believes the continues of conflict will not only affecting citizens but also they believes strongly that, three States in Upper Nile regions will have no development if we allow ourselves to be the national enemies rather than resolving conflict and get going.

The Nuers communities leaders believes their Son Dr. Riek Machar Teny is not one of the luckily blessing in successful to ink final peace agreement adding, the Khartoum peace agreement with former Nasir leader did not yelling the interests of Nasir movement saying, we can trust only our own peace agreement within South Sudan like last time Wunlit peace agreement with Dinkas and Nuers. the Pro peace on Southern Sudanese themselves do not want to be name, because he is fearing for his own life but he accused his Son Dr. Riek Machar Teny for always having a trouble relationship within Southern Sudanese leadership. He was talking to himself saying others Nuers educated men from Nuers society have no problems most of the time but why Son of Leer community causing us too many problems?. He is also turning against Dinka Gogrial and Dinka Bor for not treating their brothers like them, the man which I have met with him seem to involved in a deepest politics but he is not educated man. I think I would agree with him because he is a pro peaceful coexistence sort as mine.

I will attempt to response even though you comment is vague & a bit confusing. You mentioned some 3 governors of Upper Niles assuming that you are referring to the currently serving governors under the ethnic regime of Kiir and his henchmen.

In terms of representations the 3 governors no longer represent the broader interest of the Nuers communities of Upper Niles in order for them to lead any peace efforts on behave of these communities and this should be clear to you and them as well.

Much of the communities you think or wish the 3 governors should represent at peace talks between the main grieving tribes are kept at United Nation’s Protection Camps by policies coming directly from the boss(Ethnic Regime) of these 3 governors & implemented by the same leadership of the 3 governors. Here the source of what is keeping these communities at UN-Camps have an origin that the 3 governors can not detached themselves away from thus automatically making the governors a part of the problem and therefore there is bright and a colorful conflict of interest here before going any further. To not see the conflict of interest is either you are blind or you have a personal agenda that does not allow you the liberty of seeing things clearly. Meaning you are a puppet, bribed, and a manipulated stooge who only does as he or she is told much like the governors.

Incase you need being updates Upper Niles have 7 federal states as per adaptation of a federal democratic sytem of governing South Sudan making the your best stooges in the Upper Nile powerless and redundant. The Arabian proverb of an old lion and a goat comes to mind when I think of these used and abused damaged goods governors

On Nuer community and leadership I disagree with you again. In Nuer community, not all the leaders gets to be leaders by bullshitting their way up to the top because most Nuer communities follows a strict guideline principal of ethics of doing the right thing and being recognize for the ability, and talent one possesses by displaying such abilities and qualities of leadership. Having say that genuine leadership qualities are undeniable traits only a jealous fool would deny even if he/she is directly benefitting from such leadership and in this case Machar and so many others that he is currently working with hand in hands have that recognized leadership unanimously endorsed.

Lets also remember some leaders often fall off the band wagon of leadership due many reasons be it personal interest, ideology or whatever influences them at times.

If incase you hope for a peaceful solution for these communities as much as I do. try confronting bringing peace at a smaller portion of every community with neighbors to sit and make peace amongst themselves. once that is adopted let the same community reach out to their other neighboring communities

What I mean is that we take the Jikany Nuers as an example. They could make peace with those bordering them from along Ethiopian bordering neighbors of all ethnic tribe available and once it is well and done there should be an agreed mechanism with local and government official working together in making sure that the sign treaties and agreement are respectfully implement, observes successfully to last for the benefit of all that people that travel the area and those making a livelihood within the area. This is a project that could be funded at a local, state or at a national level.

Expand the same methodology of what works all across the country starting from a small scale communities of clans, tribes, and sections that already have a mutual interest of peaceful coexistent. To shout all day and night that Nuers are this and that Jaang are this and that or Nyam-Nyams are this and the Murlei Teets are this and that without using your brain to be a part of the solution is pointless and leads to mediocre generated thought forms that are neither helpful to you as an individuals and the community of South Sudan nation at large. The question national of leadership could be done at a national level following the constitutional guide lines but the local communities must have peace now & not later.

I not claiming that this is an idea that is tried tested or proven its effectiveness but traditionally it works amongst the egalitarian Nuer societies where peaceful coexisting monolithically is a necessity amongst them and their neighbors. Since South Sudan is yet at a state of a gobal village this idea is of a an initiative that would be less costly.

I think Nuer shouldn’t waste their time or the so-called SPLM-IO,they should find another leader to lead them for a short period and bring peace to it’s own people because Dr.Machar needs Euthanasia. They have to do it,they have to euthanize him.Don’t let him suffer for long time.
