Breaking News: Government lost Gabat to opposition forces
March 15, 2015 (Nyamilepedia)—-South Sudan rebels have taken control of the key army base in the Eastern side of Wedakona, Cpt. Paul Malith say.
Brig. Gen. Joseph Gai Gatluak and his comrades, captured Gabat military base on the early hours of today. While Forces loyal to President Salva Kiir are on the run to Musekbel and Wedakona in disarray.
‘Completely liberated’ Malith said.
Lt. Colonel Nhial Kuol, who was the commanding officer and who liberated Gabat this morning told Nyamilepedia, press on phone that his forces managed to oust out the tyranny forces at Gabat and they hope to do the same at Mustagbel and Wedakona respectively.
“Gabat barrack was completely liberated” and said the group was now clearing the battle field and to move forward.
While Cpt. Paul Malith, a Military Orientation officer in Division 7, said their gallant’s forces did well today by retaking the key town of Gabat and its surrounding military outposts from the enemies.
Paul Malith told Nyamilepedia Press that most of the troops at Gabat Barack surrendered before the base was overrun and several others run and hand over themselves to White Nile whose water are infested by hungry Crocodiles.
Government troops are believed to control much of the countryside of Northern Upper Nile State, while the opposition forces dominated more other areas within the interior of the State.
“They have used war tanks, Chlorine gasses and other heavy weapons which they brought from Uganda and China but our brave soldiers, the gallants SPLA forces in opposition manage to teach them a good lesson” Said Cpt. Malith.
Captain Malith said their forces today captured the following weapons in good condition;
- One APC War Tank Armor personnel carrier (Walit) small type and the fastest.
- Seven RPG -9.
- Eight 12.5 Machine guns.
- 76 -AK47 Rifles
The battle of Gabat comes after the Ugandan warship was reportedly bomb and destroyed into ashes by the rebels inhabiting the western bank of the Nile River.
