March 9, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — South Sudan’s armed opposition, SPLM/SPLA, regrets that their partner in peace, the Government of South Sudan, has abandoned peaceful resolutions in preference for military solution.

“The SPLM/SPLA regrets that our partners in peace, the Government of the Republic of South Sudan has abandoned the spirits of Arusha and Addis peace processes, and have opted for a military solution.” Said the SPLM/SPLA Spokesman, Capt. Mabior Garang de Mabior.

According to Mabior, the Opposition’s chairman of National Committee for Information and Public Relations, SPLM/SPLA believes in the principle of dialogue as the only feasible resolution to end the current conflict in South Sudan.

“The SPLM/SPLA still believes in the principle of dialogue as the only way to resolve the internal contradictions that have led to the current conflict.” Mabaior said.

Capt. Mabior reiterates that Juba is conducting heavily armed deployments in Jonglei state to increase destruction and prolong the suffering of the people.

“It is doleful that the government continues to seek a military solution, as demonstrated by the massive deployment of heavily armed troops by the Juba Government moving on SPLM/SPLA positions in Jong’lei State.” The spokesman said.

“This is a mistake that will not achieve anything but more destruction, and prolong the suffering of our people. We therefore urge the government to reconsider this action and return to dialogue without preconditions.” Mabior continued.

The spokesman, Mabior, affirms the SPLM/SPLA decries the recent failure of South Sudan peace talks in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and calls on all the responsible organizations, the AU and the United Nations, to officially release the AU Commission of Inquiry report and sanctions all the individuals who impede the peace process.

“The SPLM/SPLA Leadership and membership deplore the recent failure by the parties to the conflict to reach an agreement in the last round of talks.”Mabior states.

“The SPLM/SPLA, therefore, would like to renew our call for the publication of the AU Commission of Inquiry Report, and for targeted sanctions to be directed to those deemed as obstructing peace in South Sudan.” The SPLM/SPLA emphasizes.

According to Dr. Riek Machar, the former vice president and the current chairman of SPLM/SPLA, the opposition have done their utmost to bridge the gap between the two delegations, however, the government rejected the popular demands of people for justice, accountability, implementation of federalism, security reforms, restructuring of state and re-drafting of the constitutions.

“We have done our utmost to fill the gap between our delegation and the government delegation in the negotiations ,,, but it is clear that the government is rejecting the principle of accountability and the historical call of our people for implementation of federalism as a system of governance in our country and re-drafting of the constitution and the restructuring of the state and the security forces that caused the deaths of many of the citizens of South Sudan” Dr. Machar said.

Dr. Machar reiterates that the government is not serious to dialogue to bring peace to the country, however, his leadership will continue to demand peaceful resolutions of the conflict.

“We failed rounds of negotiations because the government were not serious about the dialogue process to reach a peace agreement.” Machar said.

“We still insist on our position in support of the peace process and dialogue to resolve the problem of southern Sudan.” Dr. Machar remarks.

The rebels’ Spokesman, Mabior Garang de Mabior, further clarifies that the opposition is not divided as speculated by sources emanating from Kampala, Uganda

“The SPLM/SPLA would also like to take this opportunity to assure members that the negative propaganda emanating from Kampala, alleging that the leadership of the SPLM/SPLA is divided are baseless and wishful thinking of Juba and Kampala.” Mabior said.

While Mabior urges the supporters of SPLM/SPLA-IO to remain vigilant, he assures that such speculations will only unite the opposition.

“The leadership of the SPLM/SPLA has never been more united, the desertion of individuals can only crystallize and strengthen the Movement and should not be a cause for alarm” Mabior said.

“The Movement urges members to remain vigilant and not be dissuaded by individuals with vested interests.” he concludes.

Mabior Garang ,should know that the sanctions he so much prays for ,would include him, simply because he is no difference from Riek .By joining rebellion against his nation that his late father ,fought for the last 22yrs ,is humiliating and his father must now be turning in his grave wondering what he and his mother brought upon their innocent people by following his father’s past enemy whom they knew too well. You are cursed a hundred times by the lives of the innocent Bor people who died in that terrible manner. Therefore, never dream of becoming a leader anywhere in this nation.

Mabior,
Bangot Amum Okeach and her young brother are already in Juba. They came to burry their father who passed away in Malakal, but they are not going back to bush. More will be coming in the next few months. If you don’t mobilize Bor to help the Nuer to fight Kiir, you will be on the run soon. You lost golden opportunity to grab peace in Addis-Ababa by talking nonsense.

Though they increase their deployment troops in Jonglei, they will not see any single tukul in Lou Nuer area, it is liar and less true, but fact must be told if the dinka of Salva kiir come here they will get the tough lesson which they will never forget like last year.

Peace did not come for the greedy demand of your leader Riek Machar, so, you must blame him for he is not ready for peace anymore.

Mabior Rebecca Nyandeeng (Manh Tik),
Is it not too late for regrets and beggings?
What happen to your pathetic and folly dreams of reaching Juba and ousting President Kiir with his entire government out of power?
Where were you when your step father comes up with impossible demands and allow him to use copy and paste of 2005 CPA which was championed by your then father that was mean to deliver us from Islamic Regime in Khartoum and that has resulted into Referendum and eventually the Independence in which your current step father would like to destablised again like that of 1990s????????
Sky is the limit!
Mark my words Manh Tik!
