South Sudan: Defecting Young General Rejected in his Own Home Towns!
Feb 18, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — The young South Sudanese Brigadier General, and the former Spokesman of SPLM/SPLA (in Opposition), Brig. Gen. Lul Ruai Koang, who defected from the armed Opposition following heated confrontations with his comrades, has been rejected in his home town of Akobo and other parts of Greater Lou-Nuer.
“There comes a time that national interest becomes a priority to that of an individual.” Gen. Koang Rambang, the commissioner of Akobo quotes Prof. George Saitoti.
According to Commissioner Koang, the Greater Akobo Leadership, on ground, dismisses the existence of any armed resistance in the three Counties of Lou Nuer beside that of SPLM/ A under the leadership of Dr. Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon.
“On behalf of the three Commissioners, Cde Simon Hoth Duol, Cde Wany Juet Jok and I, wish to assure the entire Lou Nuer Citizens across the globe that we remain committed to the course of our movement under the leadership of Dr. Riek Machar Teny.” Koang declares.
The commissioners declares that all the three counties of Lou-Nuer will never betray the innocent Nuer children and women, who were massacred in thousands in Juba, South Sudan.
“The Lou Nuer leadership and the entire population on ground will not, at any cost, betray the innocent Nuer Citizens that were massacred in Juba on December 15th, 2013 for simple reason of their ethnic identity. I wish to make it clear to all Lou Nuer citizens that Lou Nuer people will never be divided again for personal interests or gains.” the commissioners declare.
