Breaking News: Sudanese Rebels Killed in South Sudan Conflict!
Jan 17, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — Reports from South Sudan’s Northern Upper Nile States allege that members of Sudan People Liberation Army-North(SPLA-N) have been killed in the latest battles for the oil-rich Renk County.
According to reports obtained from SPLA-IO’s 1st Special Division, under the overall command of Maj. Gen. James Koang Chol, seven Sudanese rebels were killed along with over 180 allied South Sudanese SPLA-Juba forces under the overall command of Brig.Gen. Buay Rolyang.
“While conducting mopping operations and consolidating our gains, we discovered that ; 189 enemy combatants were killed in action including 7 SPLA North fighters” SPLA-IO spokesperson, Brig.Gen. Lul Ruai Koang announces.
The rebels believe that they have overran battalions of government troops, who attempted to invade their territories North East of Renk County, a report that is yet to verified by the Juba factions.
According to Lul Ruai Koang, the SPLA-IO have inflicted heavy casualties on Salva Kiir forces after four hours of heavy battles for the control of Omthelawich.
“Reliable, verifiable and credible information …. revealed our that our gallant forces under direct command of Brig. Gen.James Yak Dayem inflicted heavy casualties on Kiir’s tribal army supported by SPLA North fighters at a four hour battle for the control of Omthelawich approximately 30-50Km north east of Renk County in northern Upper Nile State.” Brig.Gen. Lul Ruai Koang said.
Lul believes that the SPLA-Juba troops, which controls the oil fields in the Upper Nile state, were supported by 12 tanks and other artillery, some of which were captured or burnt, after fierce battles at approximately 30-50 Kms away from the County’s headquarters.
“This morning, three pro-Kiir battles supported by 12 battle tanks attacked our round defensive trenches at Omthelawich forcing our combat units to return fire in self defence.” Lul said
“After four hours of intense fighting, Kiir’s militias under direct command of traitor Brig. Gen. Stephen Buoy Rolnyang were decisively defeated, pursued and fled in disarray in three directions; Some towards Renk, Dukduk and Gerbenna” He continued.
The source reiterates that the rebels captured 15 PKM, 133 AKM-47, 10 RPG-7, among other weapons and ammunitions.
“15 PKM light machines captured in good condition along with 133 AKM-47, and 10 RPG-7.” Lul states.
