Government of South Sudan agrees to form GOU with President appointing Prime Minister!

Nov, 27th, 2014 (Nyamilpedia)- In a letter seen by Nyamilepedia Editorial Team, the government of the Republic of South Sudan has agreed to form a government of National Unity (GOU) with the Opposition under the leadership of Dr. Riek Machar Teny. The letter entails the powers of the president as well the powers of Prime Minister.

According to the meeting held in Juba by the Government of President Salva Kiir Mayardit and his cabinets, they have agreed that, President will remain the head of state, and shall appoint the Prime Minister, Ministers, head of diplomatic missions and their duties in accordance with the peace agreement. The Prime Minister shall be the Commander in-Chief-of SPLM-IO Army during the Interim period and as well the document mentioned Premier  shall be deputized by three deputies according to the GRSS delegation summary extended to Nyamilepedia.

The government delegation structure comprises of;
• The President
• The Vice President,
• The Prime Minister,
• Three Deputies to the Prime Minister
• The Council of Ministers (Ministers 3nd Deputy Ministers)

The letter as well acknowledged that a federal system of governance is a popular demand of a large section of the population of South Sudan and therefore agree to reflect it by way of effective devolution of more powers to the states in the agreement particularly in the areas of security, judicial administration, law enforcement, fiscal reforms and public sector reforms.

Study and come up with the type of federalism and/or any Mother system of governance appropriate to the people of South ‘Sudan through the  permanent constitution making process.
