20 killed, 40 wounded following fighting between rival clans in Western Lakes

July 20th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – Fierce fighting between rival clans on Friday in Western Lakes state has left twenty (20) people dead and (40) people wounded, sources told the Nyamilepedia on Saturday.

One source said the fighting broke out on Friday between Western Lakes’ Gony and Thuiyic clans.

“Yesterday heavy fighting erupted in Western Lake State Rumbek Between Goony and thuiyic of WESTERN Bhar-Naam county. 20 people were reported dead and 40 people were wounded,” the source told Nyamilepedia on the condition of anonymity.

“The worsening situation left New appointed Governor Mahmuod Solomon who is just 59 days in the office shocked and confused what to do to clam rampant killing in local town,” the source added.
