Sept 19, 2014(Nyamilepedia) — According to the latest reports from Dolep Hill, Upper Nile State, fighting has resumed this morning in Dolep Hill. The town was initially under control of allied troops of SPLA-Juba.

According to David Bol Kulang, whose brother was shot in the fighting, a break away faction from loyal forces have overrun the military garrisons in Dolep Hill this morning:

“Fighting started here this morning between government soldiers. One faction is defeated, and now going toward Malakal. No one knows the number of casualties yet but my brother has sustained a wound.” Bol said.

Bol believes that the fighting was instigated by suspicion among the loyal forces. While the SPLA remain alert on both sides, loyal forces within SPLA-Juba suspected a conspiracy ploy within the ranks of allied loyal forces.

“Three day ago Salva Kiir soldiers from Bahr el Ghazal started interrogating the Nuer SPLA members because they are told they have been communicating with the white army” Bol Said.

The source reiterated that the suspicion inflicted fear among the soldiers for the last few days. More than 5 soldiers have been arrested on Wednesday night and taken to unknown destination as speculations build on.

Report from Canal, an area under the SPLA-IO forces, alleged that a communication is established between the break away faction in Dolep Hill as a retaliatory attack from Malakal is anticipated.

In other reports the Chief of Staff for SPLA-Juba forces, Paul Malong Awan, has arrived at Paloch oil fields to coordinate an attempt to retake the strategic towns of Gong Baar, Dupduk and Jarbani, which felt under SPLA-IO forces during the recent fighting near Renk.

Juba believes that the oil fields are not secure if the anti-government forces continue to occupy the outskirts of strategic town of Renk.
