Sept 05, 2014(Nyamiledia) –Following the abrupt changes of focus of IGAD mediation, from addressing the root causes of the conflict, reconstruction of the devastated states, system of governance, peace and reconciliation and the suffering of the South Sudanese people in the impoverished UNMISS camps to political power sharing between the Prime Minister and the President, the South Sudanese politician, scholar and former ambassador, Professor David de Chand, has call on the IGAD countries and South Sudan Government to respect and observe the fundamental rights of the people of Greater Upper Nile.

Professor de Chand reminds the IGAD mediators that the quest of liberation for the people of South Sudan, and Greater Upper Nile in particular, will never be wiped off with an empty, powerless, irrelevant, unproductive and unprogressive Prime Ministerial position.

The former ambassador urges the IGAD countries that the South Sudanese people have nothing to do with power, not even Salva Kiir or James Wani Igga, but their God given rights and freedoms.

“We have nothing to do with both Salva Kiir and Wani Igga as the illegitimate President and Vice President of South Sudan, respectively.”

The political scientist, who earned his PhD in Political Science (international relations) from Atlanta University, warns the regional bloc(IGAD) and African Union that South Sudan will further split if the peace talks are being delayed to shed more blood of the Nuer people and other minority groups during the approaching dry season.

Amb. de Chand believes that the people of Greater Upper Nile, who are currently uprooted from their birthplaces by imported mercenaries and Salva Kiir’s forces, will call it enough and fight for their right of Self determination.

“We would want them to know that “let my people go” and they are determined and motivated to go through the exercise of the right to self-determination or through a political divorce as the people of Scotland would positively vote in a referendum on the right to self-determination on 18 September 2014 to exit from the UK after more than four hundred (400) years retrospect to the Union with the Kingdoms in 1763 or the people of the Greater Upper Nile would have to go by any means necessary.” Professor de Chand stated.

Amb. David de Chand reiterates that the rights of the people, who have been purposely targeted for extermination, annihilation or genocide , is paramount, God’s given, inalienably fundamental and internationally guaranteed rights under the UN Charter and international law.

“It is about rights of the people who have been purposely targeted for extermination, annihilation or genocide as a “final solution” in whole or in part.” De Chand said.

“We would take our rights, and as the victims of 15-18 December 2013, Juba Genocide, we are hereby declaring to the world that we do not subscribe to any of the positions of the Prime Minister or the President, but we want our inalienable fundamental human rights as God’s given rights and internationally guaranteed rights under the UN Charter and international law to “all peoples” on the planet-Earth.” Professor de Chand emphasized.

The professor illustrates with examples that the independent of the people of Greater Upper Nile and Greater Equatoria will not be first of its kind in world history.

He believes that like the people of Cyprus on the Mediterranean Sea, the people of Somaliland in Haragessa on the Gulf of Aden, or like the people of Scotland that would positively vote in a referendum for the right to self-determination on 18 September 2014, the people of Greater Upper Nile and Greater Equatoria will break away from the people of Greater Bahr el Ghazal, who have turned the wealth of the two regions to hiring foreign forces to kill and displace the local populations.

“We would like to sojourn to the tiny Island nation of Cyprus on the Mediterranean Sea that had divided itself into two mini-states and recognized by the United Nations as the Greco-Cypriots on the West side of the Island nation of Cyprus and the Turkish-Cypriots on the east side of the Island nation of Cypriots. We shall and we will go like people of Somaliland in Haragessa on the Gulf of Aden that have finely and greatly existed as a de facto state rather than a de jure state for the past 18-20 years and did and does mighty fine compared to the Federal Republic of Somalia.” de Chand said.

“We, the people of the Greater Upper Nile region, shall and will declare political divorce or political independent through the exercise of the right to self-determination to determine our political destiny, socioeconomic development, cultural well being and the right to development as a new and anew political entity for socio-human development in all human spheres of endeavors to become the greatest in the northern part of South Sudan. We would remain South Sudanese and the rest shall be added once the political kingdom has been attained sooner rather than later.” the political scientist continued.

De Chand believes that when the political divorces succeed, all the three regions shall retain their identity and embrace being South Sudanese.

“We shall also call ourselves as “South Sudanese” because we shall not and will not forever subtract or negate in our demands the right to remain full pledged South Sudanese of (El-Ballad Al-Suda) or (the land of the Blacks) as it was named so by an Arab explorer and geographer Ibn Batuta in A.D.1450 and by a Jewish explorer and geographer David Rabini in A.D. 1500, by the Greeks explorers and geographers that called the entire region as (Ethios) plus [pia} [people with burned faces] because we have been historically part and parcel of whole and the whole must be equal to the sum of its parts.” The professor reiterates.

Wani Igga made a mistake of going to the UN heads of states meeting instead of the incompetent killer Kiir representing his disgraced-Dinka-run genocidal regime. He deserved the embarrassment. Dinka’s puppet.
