May 05, 2014(Nyamilepedia) — Many people have lost their lives because of problem that could have been resolving politically with the part but due to power interest, tribal political ideologies; it’s has us thousands of lives. In a civilized nation or any educated person with vision of leading his people would always think twice before he could in a such way of taking his people in war. A wise man would always think about his people than his political interest. But because our leaders are not interested in people’s life, they have brought us war.  After four months of this senseless President and Dr. Riek Machar finally signed peace accord in Addis Ababa.  Signinng this peace is a sign of a good political move but the question is how long will Pre: Kiir and Riek Machar Peace Accord  last?

There is no doubt the document that was signed and affirmation speak the what about what South Sudanese need at this time: that we recognized that there is no military solution to the crisis in South Sudan and that a sustainable peace can be achieve only through include political dialogue.” It’s true that there is no military solution to the current conflict but a political one. It’s also nota political solution whereby they will be fighting for their position but the interests of South Sudanese how have suffered because of Kiir and Riek actions.

As they have agree that “ to immediately cease hostile activities within twenty four hours of the signing the document, thus rededicating ourselves to the cassation of hostilities agreement of 23 January 2014; and further agree to facilitate the deployment of IGAD Monitoring and Verification Mechanism (MVM) and to disengage, separate force and refrain from any provocative action or combat movement until a permanent ceasefire  is agreed and signed.”  I personally think that this document is good step forward but its need a commitment from both side the government, rebel forces and the IGAD itself.  Failure to do so will make any side violated easily.

Even if Persident Salva Kiir and the Rebel leader, have agreed “to issue order to all their respective commands and units, on signing of the agreement, instructing full and immediate cessation of hostilities, cooperation with the IGAD MVM, and facilitation of humanitarian acess; and the receipt of the order at command level shall be verified by the IGAD MVM in the week after signing this agreement” How long will this be honored by Riek Machar side since he does not fully control white Army? Also how will work if his demands of kiir to step down are not met?

I don’t think this peace will last for because of three reason:  Salva Kiir wasn’t 100% to signed the document and his body language shows that he was not really interested but for the sake of saved his political rating in Juba; Riek doesn’t control of any major town to make him more powerful and to convince the government to accept this peace accord. And finally, he does not control the White army that is waging war against the government in juba.

I am not against peace to come but I just don’t think our leaders are working for peace than interest in being power or getting into power. I really for peace and I don’t think people can be targeted because of tribal line.  These have happen before and it should try by ICC, as they are now sacred of ICC.

They are now scared of the International Criminal Court which it’s a good thing and it will make them to the do everything so that they cannot be taken to ICC.  With this, I think ICC should use their power to help the people of South Sudan. I do know that ICC under Charter 7 of the UN do not any power to arrest any sitting head of state nor do they have police to do their job but their voices is very important as they have done it in Liberia and Coast D’ Ivory.  By that doing Kiir and Riek peace accord to last longer.

Kiir and Riek Peace accord will also last if the neighboring countries played a major role like what’s Kenya did during CPA period, if they don’t than there is no way it will work even if Kiir and Riek have signed it.  The neighboring countries have play a major role because many  of their citizens  were working in South Sudan; their economic was growing but no any more due to this war. So it’s in the best interest of these countries to make sure that there is South Sudan and to push these Kiir and Riek to accept peace.
