Breaking news: South Sudan rebels bomb UPDF tanks, 250 soldiers killed

Lt-col-Paddy-AnkundaUPDF spokesperson Lt. Col. Paddy Ankunda

January 17, 2014 [KAMPALA] — Dr. Riek Machar rebels fighting to overthrow the government of Salva Kiir in Juba have bombed three tanks of Uganda’s army UPDF and in the process killed over 250 soldiers at Bor and Malakal.

The city of Malakal fell in the hands of rebels on Friday and many of the UPDF soldiers who were fighting along side Salva Kiir’s soldiers were killed, according to one of the UPDF soldiers who spoke in a hide out in Malakal.

According to this source, over 800 UPDF soldiers in South Sudan are cut off at Bay- and Bor. Despite a big number of UPDF soldiers being killed in South Sudan, UPDF spokesman, Paddy Ankunda says the army is yet to reveal the number of the dead soldiers and the causalities. But the UPDF signalers in South Sudan say that Uganda has lost over 345 soldiers in total since president Museveni deployed Uganda soldiers in South Sudan. Most of the people in Uganda speak ill of president Museveni’s habbit of deploying troops in foreign countries without their consent when thieves kill civilians in their tens back home.

Ankunda says revealing the number of casualties, troop deployments and the number of UPDF soldiers so far killed could be suicidal if the information ends up in the hands of Riek Machar rebels. The Riek Machar rebels are about 90 kilometers to reach Juba. Ankunda confirms that the UPDF soldiers fell in an ambush laid by the rebels loyal to Riek Machar and many of them were killed.
“We don’t reveal casualties before we inform relatives. It can be devastating to learn about the death of their people through the media. At an appropriate time, government will be brought to account and reveal those numbers,” said Lt. Col. Ankunda.

What shall we do now to stop our soldiers being rounded up like this? Afande Ankunda, Ugandans need encouragement now. Of course they know that these are soldiers and are fighting, but when they are bombed like this, every parent gets concerned, asking where is my and daughter?

This is definitely an opposite Mr Olare, the rebel soldiers are living in the bush. Their power never gone beyond looting civilians and destruction of properties.

I truly doubt it that Ugandan government had done a proper research before sending UPDF to one of the African most notorious conflicts. As a South Sudanese who had refused to choosing side since the inception of this conflict, I am forced to grinned with broad smirk watching stupid Ugandan being sent to their deaths. The general maxim which is widely believed in regards to the “arm conflicts is that, you can’t put off an already burning fire by pouring more gasoline on it”. The Ugandan president is just too stupid as his buddy is (“the grand old on the highest seat in South Sudan”), and as well as Dr. Riek.

Africans killing Africans with weapons African’s don’t even know how to make. What else is new? This has been going on for centuries. Who benefits the weapons makers? Who loses Africans? The truth is the rest of the world is not going to do much to stop Africans from killing each your. Most are more concerned about African animals and natural resources, than African people. Contrast this with the huge effort to stop whites from killing each other in the Ukraine. Why? What’s the difference. Meanwhile the rest of the world profits of Africa through weapons sells and other means.

Many Northern Sudanese predicted that Southerners would destroy each other. They laughed and joked about it. I hoped they would be proven wrong, because so many died in in the fight for independence. When did the Southerners gain there independence? How soon after did Southerners start killing each other?

When a Jew kills a Jews, Jews ask, “How could a Jew kill another Jew.” Imagine living in a time when you could ask legitimately ask how can an African kill another African.

Nuer and Dinka were once the same people. What caused the split? Are Nuer and Dinka capable of sharing a country in peace working to uplift all Southerns. Or should Nuer seek to have their own country. Is there anyone at this website willing make peace with the Dinka.

The only, solution to the current crisis in S. Sudan is your prayer to God. (John 14:8——-. We always call ourselves Christians nation, in which, if we are really a Christians nation, we needs to lean on God to rescues us instead of thinking about our own physical power. Those we are fighting now know how much they been struggling together for the last 21 yrs of war between South Sudan and the Khartoum government. Today, the devil is trying so hard to divide them and use them as their angels. My encourage is that, all the spiritual leaders who are carrying the bible on their hands have to step up in many ways. Once, the spiritual leaders have to continue praying daily, and also consult government leaders for the consideration of peaceful coexistence in the new nation.
If many young people are there support their parties or their side in the country’s crisis, yet the only solution will not come because you depend your side or you insult someone, the solution will come from God. According to Ecc. 3:1—, the bible say, there is time for everything, a time of war and a time of peace. Today, our country is in the time of war. But the time of peace is coming soon because God know exactly when He is going to bring an end to our current situation. We been losing friends and families members, including myself, but I am personally worried that many more families will lost their love one if this war continue as it is now ranging.
Thank you and keep praying until the dateline of the war in our country. God listen to his people, if we come before him on our knee.

Are we still responsible to call ourselves South Sudanese people? if we are, why do we give an opportunity to the rest of the world that we are not capable to solves our own home affair. Don’t we know that there is a solution to every problem happening in this world? Look what happened between many countries in the first world war!!! People fought, and at last they came together and solved their disagreement. In which, we are at the same time responsible as the South Sudanese people to encourage our leaders to compromise and unite our nation. Instead of supporting war. Let us turn the page, and let us all support reconciliation and unity among the people of South Sudan.
The generations come and go. in which, we don’t want to let our generation lost their opportunities to enjoy their time. I know many of you are still young who deserve to lives longer in that God gifted land of South Sudan and you also deserve to be happy and benefit from the land of your ancestors; but now many young people are drying without testing the sweetness of their land since we just come out from oppression from our long term oppressor who took every resources we have for many years. Instead to be free and happy today, here it come another war between the two big brothers who been fighting together as an allies to freed themselves from the bondage that they refused to lives in.
People of South Sudan!! let turn the page war into the page of peace and reconciliation that will bring everlasting peace in our land.
Don,t we see how people are enjoying our problem? Look AGAD, they are just making their money out of South Sudan problem instead of helping South Sudanese people. People!!, it is our turn to stand up and say enough is enough!! We get no helper, and we have no one carrying about our situation rather than supporting our leaders to continues fighting. Look what Ugandan is doing!! we been fighting for 21 years with Khartoum government, and they never helped us. However, their involvement in the war in South Sudan does not mean that they loved us, it is because they see the resources that they want to grave in South Sudan.
Let keep praying until the dateline of the war in our new nation. Let put our hope on God and not on people. People try and they fail. (Jer 33:3)

Nuer vision is bring you into the self-determination, that give you now the Southern Sudan, that was rejected by late Garang in 1991, and come into it later. Why you do not fight by yourself, if we may not defeat you in one day ladies. Why you leave your idea of unity of Sudan and come to our idea of independent. You the one who have no vision accept stilling money as the dead bodies to be buried in A well or Gagrial the bigger thieves in the World.
